@NYRLouie He always was a superstar talent. NYR org has no clue how to develop forward draft picks. On any other team he would have been on top line & PP1 from game 1 of his career. On NYR it's 3rd line & no PP for 1st several years. NYR waste top half 1st round picks like no one else.
@vzmercogliano Yes, take Lafreniere (who has 4 goals and 5 points in the last 2 games) off the top line. Great job.
This franchise deserves it when things go wrong.
@NYRLouie Never build around 30+ yr olds. You come to a crossroads where you were a bottom 5 team in NHL, you trade those guys & start a rebuild. Now the biggest chip is done only 5 games into the season. NYR top 2 centers are 30+ years old. Fox is already 29 in Feb. What's the plan?
@ernestdove After seeing what Pete Crow Armstrong is doing, and seeing what Pete Alonso is doing, I think its time we stop shipping out home grown Mets and let them be all-stars and MVP caliber players here as Mets.
@NYRLouie This is the trap NYR always fall for. Trading youth for "proven" aging "star player" then watch proven player choke in NYC. Are NYR winning the Cup with Larkin? Zibanejad, Miller, Larkin all 30+ yrs old. What NYR should be doing is finding younger replacements for Zib & Miller.
@NYRLouie Decisions like this destroyed this franchise for decades. Grow a player, or start to & get rid of them in favor of much older worse replacement. Amonte, Weight, Zubov, Kovalev... Cuylle scores 20 goals from 2nd/3rd lines 24yrs old, durable plays every game.
@NYRLouie I would not trade Cuylle. At the same ages his production is comparable to Kreider. Not saying he's Kreider. But he can be a fixture for a lot of years & produce. At the same age Kreider got so much shit online like HFBoards & other places. Cuylle is one I'd keep.
