@JenniferJillS I feel like good religion has to "so shine" because if it isn't conspicuously good then it's simpler and less exhausting for the abused to just say: "Away with it all!"
@jrhester@Angry_Staffer No but we have quite enough practice bailing them out. Everyone knows Netanyahu wants the USA to go to war with Iran. That's the sole purpose of the USA in his mind.
@JessTerraformE @ask_aubry Oh no. Read it loud and clear. Poor boy was probably not into sports and the father made no attempt to reach out to him on any other level.
@clhubes The problem is all these people who think that the family used to look like the one on Leave it to Beaver all the way back into history.
In reality women have always worked outside of the home historically and children have always been taken care of by people other than mothers.
@FranklinHurst@efftheuniparty@StuartAmidon It's perfectly legitimate to say: "We prefer the Hymnody revival period etc" for example.
It's not more legitimate than any other period or less legitimate than the period before.
@FranklinHurst@efftheuniparty@StuartAmidon I think your preference is clear. Your traditional, however, was once someone's contemporary. Christianity marches on, but we can't hurt to understand context.
@FranklinHurst@efftheuniparty@StuartAmidon Franklin that word makes no sense and you know it. Traditional what? What tradition? What time period? Instruments or no instruments? Not even Catholic services have remained the same over 2000 years.
@Forthetruthhere @efftheuniparty@StuartAmidon It's petty because it's always promoted at the expense of other types of music. Completely unnecessary. Let the hymns stand on their own merits.
(Plus, imagine how depraved you have to be to sing a worship song and begin to "feel gay" all of a sudden)
It's ridiculous. Like "let me make sure I still have a penis" type stuff.
For the record I've forgotten more 1800s hymns than most people even know.
Every music style doesn't have to be the same.
@drantbradley The American political climate is wild and infects everything. That's my take. If care for these people wasn't politicized in the first place then best practices would have prevailed because it would be left in the hands of medical professionals and not activists on both sides.
