@naomicfisher Great post. A lot of my concerns about the conditions in schools ring true in your young person's experience. I don't think anyone sets out to do a bad job, but we must become more open to conversations about how schools might offer an alternative where required.

In my experience, this holds true. There is no quick fix and no magic solution when teaching English.
Educators get frustrated when their actions appear to be ineffective.
Not every achievement in learning looks significant in terms of quantifiable data, but it is so encouraging to have the data backing what you know is true.
