@TeachMrReed All human beings, students and staff included, want to be treated as individuals have value and self worth. Treating them and everyone else with dignity and respect is the first step towards establishing positive relationships in the classroom and beyond. It’s lifelong learning.
@SarahLizzyLou My wife has West Nile about 15 years ago. While ‘fully’ recovered she still experiences fatigue easily, her legs tire out easily if she is just standing. Hard to coop when you are an elementary teacher and need to be in your feet all day. Do it is not just COVID that is long term
@Drawn2Intellect Working in education I have found that teachers are overwhelmed with the knowledge on the internet. They are afraid they may make mistakes or insult someone. I use the question as an opportunity to let them know if their quest is authentic they can come back with questions.
@giizhebwaagaan @Drawn2Intellect Knowledge comes in different ways not just from academic institutions. Elders and Knowledge Keepers have just as much right to be reimbursed for their time and efforts as any other expert or consultant.
@thisisdrkim @theyoungjoo Imposter syndrome is so real especially being a first generation academic. One of my assessor stated that it was too bad English was not my first language. Unfortunately I was not allowed to learn any other community language. Managed to get my Ph.D. in Education despite that.
@CusackTim@Mr_Bryan06 Very much agree Tim. If we wish to be address with respect; we must do the same for our students. They are individuals with dignity and self worth who should be address with respect.
@DrAnnLopez Research states the establishing relationships with students as people is impacts school completion. Treating our students with dignity and respect let’s them know they have value and worth. Providing educational staff with the training and time to establish relationships is key
