Descendants at Madison's Montpelier name 20 candidates for foundation board
We call on @JMMontpelier to approve our candidates without delay or conditions at the May 16 board meeting. Refusing to allow them full voting powers beyond 5/16 is unacceptable

@JMMontpelier In fact, when press attention wanes, that 2/3rds majority would allow them to change anything they say they are commiting to now. They really do think descendants, the public, and the media are too stupid to notice this.
@JMMontpelier If the current board will simply appoint all the new board members on May 16, Montpelier would be freed from the mess the current board has made. Justice delayed is justice denied.
James Madison's Montpelier is in a crisis. Last year, the board reached a parity agreement to share power with descendants the enslaved. Last month, the board reneged on the deal. Now, staff who supported the descendants have been fired. My latest for @NPR https://t.co/dmzAJTRK9S
National Trust for Historic Preservation condemns Montpelier Foundation’s action; Montpelier Descendants Committee calls for historic-site CEO and foundation chair to resign. https://t.co/Yqm1RHu7SJ
This shameless quote pretty much sums it up neatly:"Hickok said the board would still seek an equal number of Black members but would make its own determination of who qualifies."

If you aren't following what is happening @JMMontpelier as related to @JMMdescendants. Tune in. The sector claims EAIJ is priority yet continues to malign, ouster, and perpetuate harm. What are we doing next? Does boycotting disproportionately impact remaining BIPOC employees?
