I’ve learned a few things in the last 19 months.
1) some of the most powerful people in the world are very evil. Not just cowardly or foolish or power hungry, but evil to the core;
2) we probably don’t even know who these people are, but they wield immense power through the puppets they install;
3) most people will ignore a holocaust and most of the remainder will find ways to justify it, probably as a psychological defense because they don’t want to believe it could happen to them;
4) most people learned nothing, absolutely nothing, from history (or the wrong lesson), and the myth of human progress in the ethical realm is just that—a myth.
