➡️ SHAMOONI IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - She is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. Her owner describes her as independent cat that loves to lounge around and prefers contact on her own terms. She has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

A volunteer writes: We don't always get things right on the first try. We don't always get them on the second, third, or fourth either. Shamooni wanted to tell me this as she chirped out an invitation for me to come over. When I did, she scurried back to her den, but right before poking her fluffy little head out to share a couple of headbutts. We began a routine where she'd chirp, knead, and look for cuddles and then return to her den. Finally making her grand entrance, Shamooni came all the way to the front and was so enamored by the prospect of getting it right and having made a friend, she wanted to build on her success by coming out even further. With her eyes on the window, Shamooni was ready to hop right onto my lap. She's hoping to find a forever family who will patiently and lovingly welcome her for who she is. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻
