7/9/25 Been a while since I posted. When I did the video, I had completed 4 cycles of chemo/immuno. When I completed cycle 5, part 2, the bottom fell out. Finished infusion at 5:30pm, by 10:30pm at ER with temp of 102.4Β° (100.4 is trigger for go to hospital for active cancer patient). About 4am determined pneumonia/heart failure, so admitted to hospital, 7 day stay. Red counts were so low I was getting transfused daily. I thought I had tripped a vampire gene, since red counts wouldn't improve despite transfusions. Fever finally broke, but fluid retention was terrible. Feet so swollen, I couldn't get shoes on. Took 3 weeks after discharge to get swelling down in feet . Been a very slow recovery, but getting stronger day-by-day. Finally able to mow the lawn without being out of breath. Start PT in a week. Really need it, lower body weak. Met with oncologist this week, so tomorrow I am scheduled to start cycle 6, last cycle of chemo/immuno. A bit ambivalent since hospitalized 2x in last 90 days after treatment. As far as I know still in remission, but hard to tell. Asked doc if I needed to make a room reservation at hospital; he smiled. There is a risk, but I'd like to close the loop on treatment for best chance to stay in remission. Getting back on carnivore since hospital stay was a total bitch. My carb addiction took 2+ weeks to get back under control. Felt like starting over: hunger, withdrawal, cravings, etc. Finally locked in carnivore with beef, butter, bacon, & eggs. Rewarded self with new air fryer. At my low point, the Lord gave me a clear message: "My strength is sufficient for you". It is! I believe the promises from Isaiah: they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, the shall run and not grow weary. They shall walk and not faint. Wishing you a blessed day.
THANKS FOR KETO/ CARNIVORE GUIDANCE Want to share a huge shout-out and thank you to the people who were/are instrumental in my keto/carnivore journey and dealing with ongoing cancer. Dr. Ken Berry - sometimes you just have to call BS on the lies and propaganda of big food & pharma. Dr. Annette Bosworth (Dr. BOZ) your book came at a time I needed to know I wasn't powerless in fighting cancer; lifestyle matters. Thomas Seyfried - your book rocked my world. To understand that cancer starts as a metabolic disease was transformative. The work you've done with Dom D'Agostino (press-pulse) will hopefully become mainstream in cancer treatment. Dr. Cywes (The Carb Addiction Doc) OK. It sucks, I am a Carb addict. Dr. Eric Westman - I have shared your clinical versus Internet keto information with numerous people. Thank you for challenging opinion being pushed as fact. Ben Bikman - love your metabolic classrooms. Your comments are the reason I went carnivore. Finally, thank you to all the doctors that have risked careers and litigation ( think Tim Noakes) to espouse fact over fiction in supporting low carb lifestyles to their patients/clients. You are heros in my book.
