I think the SalesForce group did a good job at explaining the different types of taxation that we experience in business and as consumers. Taxes are something that we all must pay attention to their report outlined the reasons behind taxes and where the money ends up #rhub290
The medical transport group laid out a a solid plan regarding how they plan to market and expand their business. I thought it was a good idea to advertise on social media as in lots of cases younger family members are the ones sourcing these healthcare resources #rhub290
I think the example of the Morgan Stanley headline from the Ponzi group presentation supported their argument well. When something is normal you don’t read headlines about it, so advertising the success of POC in their company really just shows their lack of diversity #rhub290
During the presentation last night I became curious about why poachers would be interested in sea turtle eggs. After a little research I discovered that these eggs are often smuggled into cities where they are eaten as a delicacy - Pretty damn gross if you ask me #rhub290
The Effects of Poaching presentation gave me better insight about the harm that poaching has on the world. I had always considered poaching bad for the environment but didn’t give much thought to how it affects legitimate, legal hunting. #rhub290
The Young Bucks’ presentation stood out to me for a few different reasons. First, it was clear that they spent time organizing their slides so everything flowed properly. They were also good about addressing the audience instead of reading straight off their note cards. #Rhub290
@TylerOnishi1 I agree that presentations need to be clean and avoid boring the audience. Through the proper use of graphics and by not overloading the audience with information, it’s easier to keep people engaged with the slides and the speaker #RHUB290
Learning the appropriate instances to use different graphics in business reports was interesting to me as I previously haven’t given it any thought. I also wasn’t very informed on qualifier phrases which I think will prove useful for my groups presentation #RHUB290
The Powerpoint TED Talk outlined some of the properties of design that we’ve already discussed and some fresh ideas as well. I liked the example using balls on a screen to show how >6 objects on a single slide increases the effort needed to understand it by 500%. #rhub290
@TylerOnishi1 I agree that constructing business reports is a very procedural activity. Especially with analytical reports that discuss the unique situations of a business, lots of thought should be put into how the report is organized and presented #rhub290
Business reports are a great way of describing and assessing aspects of a business. Whether the report is analytical or a recommendation, they all play an important role in the business decision making process, which ultimately determines the success of the company #rhub290
I enjoyed reading about problem statements as it gave me a framework for presenting problems in a professional manner. In the past I’ve definitely made mistakes such as posing a solution while describing the problem, which typically makes the situation more confusing #rhub290
During my market research I was surprised to find out that SD has a LOT of existing breweries - so many. To break into this market legitimately would require immense financial resources and very creative advertising that our group doesn’t have at the moment #FundBeerBros#RHUB290
One thing that I’ve appreciated about the Online Business assignment is working in a group again. It’s been a while since I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate on projects, and it’s rare for me to work w/ other students who share a mutual sense of responsibility. #rhub290
@TylerOnishi1 I agree that the intent of the promotion is the one of most important thing when it comes to social media marketing. However even if a message has good intentions, if it doesn’t reflect what the company stands for it could still come off weird or be misinterpreted. #rhub290
I think that there are big implications with ethics in social media marketing as outlined in the article. Being relevant and trendy can cause an ethical imbalance if the core values of the company aren’t being considered. #RHUB290
Social media marketing is a great way of drawing in more customers to a business. But due to our tendency as consumers to not engage with ads, it’s much harder to get people to fully absorb the content, leading to a lower conversion rate than other types of advertising #rhub290
This is a unique way of building rapport between a company and its customers and motivates the customer to increase their engagement with the content. Another example of this is the ‘people who bought this product also bought:’ section on many online marketplaces #rhub290
One thing that stood out from “The Four-Letter Code…” article was the idea that people take best to surprises when it contains elements of familiarity. This was new to me as I typically consider surprises as being unexpected, but it works in the context of marketing #rhub290
@cyturner44 I agree that having a clear website design is crucial for its effectiveness. It’s often easy to make design decisions for a website based on looks but what is most important is having a clear route through the site for your customers to follow #rhub290
