I joined @EASA Executive Director Florian Guillermet and @NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen for a fireside chat at this week's FAA-EASA International Aviation Safety Conference to discuss the challenges, changes and opportunities the FAA has experienced in this last year.
The FAA is leading the United States to the next great era of aviation, but we understand that our challenges are not unique. I echo @FAA_Bryan's sentiments that aviation safety is a global effort and discussions like these are important so we can come to the collective table, share our ideas and lessons learned, to work together fostering a strong safety culture that extends across borders and throughout the industry.
We join @IATA in supporting their new global passenger safety campaign: #SaveALifeNotABag.
In an aircraft evacuation, every second counts. Passengers should always follow crew instructions, leave all baggage behind, and move quickly to the nearest usable exit.
🚨 “Attention, you need to evacuate the aircraft.” What would you do?
Remember that every second counts. Taking bags or filming can delay evacuation and put lives at risk.
