Travellers have brazenly started turning a protected 4-acre wildlife haven into a caravan site in Willows Green near Felsted, Essex,
an army of around 30 vehicles and diggers descended under cover of darkness on Friday night using floodlights and generators,
they ripped up vegetation, bulldozed protected habitats for great-crested newts, destroyed an ancient hedgerow and filled in a ditch with rubble to create a new access road,
all of this happened just hours after Uttlesford District Council closed its doors for the entire three-day Bank Holiday weekend,
locals woke up to the shocking devastation and say the council had been warned but took no pre-emptive action,
by the time offices reopen on Tuesday the field could already be a fully fledged caravan park,
residents are furious at the total failure to protect the pristine countryside and rare wildlife including albino fallow deer,
The police officers kicking this terrorist in the head is a direct result of a lack of firearms. The Taser takes him down but does not disarm him. In any other country, the terrorist would be dead. #BackTheBlue
@adamhpking@unherd I understand your point but I'm unsure how you could hit someone with a sledgehammer and not be intending serious harm! Thats like stabbing someone in the torso and saying you didnt intend to cause serious harm as you were aiming to miss any vital organs
@ukhomeoffice@ShabanaMahmood My role is nothing to do with neighbourhood policing. Ive been forced to do hours of training and brought under the neighbourhood policing umbrella to meet the target. Ironically it will result in less people being arrested and less time on the street!
Still on probation and he ran towards the danger
People on here trying to tear down our police should be ashamed of themselves
He has changed the rest of his life by trying to stop the attack, he is a hero and those engaging in conspiracy theories dishonour him
The kid on the bike is looking to catch up with this officer.
Met, Early 2000’s not at TDC or TDP. The photo was taken close to T-square
Anyone know him?
It's April 2024. A man is walking down a street in Enfield with a knife and police are called. 🚨
A decision is taken not to deploy armed officers because it's not considered "proportionate" or "least intrusive" and it is deemed "within the capabilities of [unarmed] officers". 🧐
Two unarmed officers stop the suspect with the knife. They order him to put it down, but end up having to use a baton and PAVA. They resort to trying to tackle the suspect and one officer ends up stabbed. 🚑
The bravery of these officers doesn't just deserve recognition - it also warrants being given the training and kit to do the job. 👏
The Met's own review - below - describes the decision not to deploy armed officers as being "of real concern", with unarmed response officers describing how they don't feel supported even when there is a very real threat to their safety. 💙
How much longer will we continue to play fast and loose with officer safety and public safety? ⌛
Towns and cities up and down the Country have a serious issue with criminals (often kids) on e-bikes, and no one is doing anything about it. The Government are ignoring it and the Police have no tactics, plans, ideas or balls to deal with them.
We have a seven year old entrepreneur in our neighborhood. He put out flyers and everything. He rolls your garbage can to the curb the night before trash pick up & rolls it back to your garage once it’s picked up. We of course signed up for this service & we pay him $5 a week.
When we signed up he came to our house with his parents to introduce himself. We congratulated him on his new business! He told us he was saving money for a car. We asked him what kind of car and he said a Lamborghini!! 😂
So…. my husband reached out to our local Lamborghini dealer GM via email asking for a long shot that they might be able to bring a car by to surprise the little boy. The GM called us within six minutes. He said we’re not brining one car, we are bring many.
This Saturday there will 10 to 15 Lamborghinis parading on our block and will stop at the little boy’s house for pictures & a ride.
I cannot wait!!
Hi @SouthernRailUK. Your station staff are actively opening the barrier for anyone who refuses to pay. I see this time and time again.
When I asked your staff why they let through one gentleman for free he said “I don’t want to get stabbed”
If he thinks this gentleman is carrying a knife, why don’t they call the police? Fare evasion is also a criminal offence.
Why am I paying??
@SouthernRailUK@MitchellCMM "They are not trained in revenue protection" but they are trained to operate the barriers and assist fare evasion. Ridiculous
