“This offer doesn’t do everything in one go, but we’ve never asked for everything in one go.”
@_VivekTrivedi on the junior doctor pay offer in England and building back up the workforce.
We have turned the tide on pay erosion, but this first step will not be the last.
The profession has changed. Our unions has changed. We will win #FullPayRestoration

BMA win in support of disabled doctors 👇
The landmark ruling vindicates our conviction that RCGP policy on exam attempts was unlawful & unfair to disabled trainees. This should serve as a warning to other colleges to treat all trainee doctors fairly.

1 in 7 practising doctors who trained in Britain are now working elsewhere, a 50% increase since 2008 – almost triple the rate in similar countries. Clearly, one factor is a huge real terms drop in pay (<24%) but workplace culture, burnout and stress are also culprits.
Consultants in England, does the new offer make sufficient progress to end our dispute? Can it be the start of getting back what we've lost? We feel the improved offer addresses the concerns some members had and are recommending that you vote YES.

"The time is now to fight to save General Practice. Because - if not now, when?"
@doctor_katie has urged GPs to join @TheBMA and vote in a referendum on the 2024/25 GP contract changes, which opened today and runs until March 27.
"Medical associate professions have an important role and future in the NHS but only by practicing within safe parameters."
Our council chair @DrPhilBanfield sets out our landmark guidance on the role and responsibilities of Medical associate professions (MAPs).
