Cards and more Cards. Yankees, New York Giants, Rookie Cards, Hall of Famers, 90’s inserts. Most of my posts are PC, but if you see anything you like DM me.
I’ve seen a few posts over the last week that are downing people for having a PC alluding to the fact that cards won’t retain value. I won’t call them out publicly but it’s sad when all people see is money. We need to bring back #thehobby and the joy of collecting.
THIS ISN'T 2021... Why I’m NOT worried about a sports card market crash
1. Money is flowing toward better cards
2. Collectors better understand scarcity
3. More collectors, fewer pure flippers
4. Set building is returning
5. Participation is at record levels
6. Fanatics still has room to grow
7. Athletes are actively joining the hobby
8. International growth remains largely untapped
9. The hobby’s infrastructure is stronger
10. The market already survived its stress test
I agree with the first part of this. Def a test. Last part—I myself have cards that have been in card savers so long the soft sleeve has made a mark on the inside of it….I’ve been hoping things would work themselves out for a long time now….cant say i ever see it happening.
Here’s what I see: SGC (really PSA lite) used this increase as a test balloon. It failed. We, the card community, did not take it well. They got ripped from sea to shining sea. Knowing their attempt to squeeze us more has not been well received, they issued this backpedal. “No no no. Sorry. We didn’t tell you the whole story. This is temporary! It’ll change soon!” I’ve never graded with SGC anyway, so I don’t care what they charge. I’m almost done with all things PSA also, so basically, Collectors Inc. If CGC’s values in the market can get close to PSA’s level, I’m in 100% at CGC. Today? I have hundreds of cards in card savers, waiting for the whole dang thing to figure itself out so we can return to our version of normal around here.
ANNOUNCEMENT: Following unprecedented demand for yesterday’s 2025-26 Topps Chrome Update Basketball pre-order, we’re working to provide collectors a chance to open packs at retail price.
For Friday’s Topps Chrome Update Basketball Mega Box pre-order on our website, all boxes will ship with the plastic seal fully removed.
While the cards and contents inside remain untouched, removing the factory seal helps discourage the immediate resale and gives more collectors an opportunity to purchase at retail.
This initial test is part of a larger program working to ensure that more collectors can buy the products they love at retail prices.
We want you to know that we are working tirelessly to make the collecting experience as enjoyable as possible for everyone… From first-time buyers to life-long collectors, and everyone in between.
WE HATE PSA! WE WANT AN ALTERATIVE!
CGC is the alternative (Nat owns BGS/SGC)
NA CGC DONT SELL, BAD ROI!!!
well, thats a you problem.
How do you expect things to change?
Picking up some Trouts.
Not because they might GO UP!
But because i saw him play and remember how great he was.
Have we forgotten the nastalgia factor of collecting?
favorite Giants players and was having a solid year. The photo of him is cool too. Trying to get all 10’s, so far 1 for 2 🤣🤣🤣. Great photos. Great SuperBowl. Great memories. Sorry TB12.😬
Little project I’m working on for my PC, buying all the 2008 Upper Deck Giants cards and sending them to get slabbed. Each card has a photo from SuperBowl XLII, except Shockey’s, as he went down for the year in week 15. I’ll probably still include him though as he was one of my
