Random World Cup thought…
England 🏴 might be the biggest failure in soccer’s history.
⚽️ is their number 1 sport, they’ve always had a very rich and strong domestic league… yet they have only won 1 very sketchy World Cup in 1966, no other finals and never won an EURO.
There is absolutely no excuse for the USMNT 🇺🇸 not to win at least one knockout game this World Cup.
Anything less than that is a failure.
Round of 16 is a bare minimum and quarter finals should be the goal, with semis being an overachievement.
Just because 4-5 players in the roster suck it doesn’t mean the team sucks.
The scenes from Getafe are insane.
Pitch invasion as Getafe qualify to Europe while Osasuna players are crying to see if Girona score a goal to relegate them.
Girona doesn’t score and Osasuna join the celebrations amongst the Getafe fans as they stay in La Liga.
Unreal.
Football is so obsessed with xG and analytics nowadays so players don’t attempt things like this.
That’s why we rarely see screamers any more.
Game has become so boring.
🚨 Clint Dempsey (MLS Pundit): "Right now everyone is talking about the Saudi League climax, a team fighting for league title battling against a team fighting for relegation, both teams have higher stakes."
"MLS needs to introduce relegation coz lower ranked teams here fight for nothing and its literally free points for top teams coz they have no motivation to win or lose. Saudi is already among the top leagues, MLS is far behind."
“And perhaps the most complicated problem, Kansas Athletics projects a $15 million deficit this year and KU is using its general fund to cover athlete payments.”
Trouble brewing.
