The relationship between the two communist parties and the ruling TVK is, for all practical purposes, over. Their decision to field candidates in the Maduranthagam and Dharapuram constituencies makes this clear. There is hardly any meeting of minds between them now. Their assessment of the TVK has proved to be wrong. This is not merely a departure from the status quo; it marks a fundamental shift in their relationship.

ஊழலுக்கு எதிராக நெஞ்சம் நிமிர்த்திப் பேசுகிற ஆதவ் அர்ஜுனா அவர்கள், ஆளுநருடைய இந்த நடவடிக்கைக்கு எதிராகப் பேசுவாரா? உள்துறை அமைச்சர் அமித்ஷாவுக்கு எதிராகப் பேசுவாரா?

நான் ஆதவ் அர்ஜுனா அவர்களிடம் சொல்லிக்கொள்கிறேன். ஊழலுக்கு எதிரான அரசியலின் பக்கம் நீங்கள் நிற்பதாக இருந்தால், இடதுசாரி வேட்பாளர்களை ஆதரிக்கிற முடிவை நீங்கள் எடுக்க வேண்டும். அதுதான் ஊழலுக்கு எதிராகத் துணிந்து நிற்பது.
