Commuters on the Ngong route are reportedly being exploited by a conductor aboard the NANGKIS SACCO matatu who allegedly overcharges passengers and refuses to return the correct change.
It is also claimed that the crew in the matatu is part of a group that intimidates passengers.
Multiple reports suggest that several passengers have fallen victim to this alleged scheme.
"Good morning Nyakundi. There is this NANGKIS bus plying route 111 (Ngong). The makanga inside there is robbing passengers by not returning balances for fares paid. He has just charged a young man 100 bob from Ngong to Kona after agreeing to take 50 bob when he boarded from Embulbul. He has robbed more than six others at a go. He has a gang of about three others inside the mat and he threatens to beat up passengers.
We need to stop him and his gang. I know even if we can't, we can advise matatu users to avoid this crook. Please expose him. It's Christmas and we don't need thugs who make our lives harder, life in Kenya is already hard for the common mwananchi."
Kenyan Workers in Qatar Expose โModern Slaveryโ at Rangers Security Services
Workers at a security firm in Qatar, many of whom are Kenyan, are currently speaking out about what they are experiencing as oppressive and exploitative working conditions.
Employees are reporting a range of concerning practices, including long, grueling hours without rest, excessive salary deductions for minor infractions and arbitrary penalties that leave them struggling to make ends meet.
The situation is quickly deteriorating with high turnover rates and new recruits resigning under pressure.
"Hello Cyprian. Thanks man for the good job you're always doing for your fellow oppressed countrymen. Please hide my handle. Kindly highlight this for me and my colleagues. There is a company called Rangers Security Services, which I work for here in Qatar, and it is really oppressive to us employees. It's composed of about 70% Kenyans, while the rest is a mix of Ugandans and Nepalese. The CEO, Mr. Mamoud Magdi, an Egyptian, is constantly traveling to Kenya to recruit from an agency called Mastermind, but before he was doing the recruitment through Forbes Agency and stopped due to massive complaints through their social media pages.
The reason he is constantly traveling to Kenya is to recruit more staff to replace the high rate of resignations the company is experiencing due to oppressive leadership, which Uganda and Nepal have denied him the privilege. Mr. Magdi (Pharaoh) has turned away from making a profit by offering security services into making money through penalizing employees with stupid rules, rendering our payslips useless and nothing to smile about. We work for 12 hours straight, no offs, bearing in mind some colleagues work outside with the harsh climate in this region, then you are told of "poor standing position at work," which results in a deduction of 5 days from your salary. Others include use of mobile phones, invisible job cards, not spreading the bed properly, etc.
Man, we have stayed here for long, hoping things would change, but there is no sign. We are even ashamed of going back home because the savings we have accumulated do not make sense, since most of our salary is stolen by this greedy Egyptian back to his company. We highlighted this issue last year on social media with Robert Alai, Tuko, copied to the Kenyan embassy here in Qatar. It was debated for some time, and things cooled a bit, only for later some guy from the embassy to visit the Egyptian's office, took a picture, posted it on the company groups, and that was it. Man, the rules by this company are just for modern slavery.
He has brainwashed a few guys by giving them slightly higher perks, and they go around work locations hunting fellow colleagues for mistakes, take pictures, and send them to him. Imagine, some of us have these memos accumulating to 15 in number, meaning in the next 15 months, our salary will be reduced by 5 days every month. WHICH COMPANY DOES THAT? If you resign, he transfers all your deductions (memorandums) into your service/gratuity dues, and then you end up getting nothing, yet you are going back home.
This guy should be stopped from further hiring until he streamlines the way he manages the company. New guys who are coming in don't even finish 6 months because of the unrealistic financial stress, frustration, and pressure. He does not mind rehiring now and then because the agent back home shares with him the high agency fees paid by job seekers, which makes him money either way.
This guy is greedy, very rude, and arrogant, so by all means, he needs to be stopped from subjecting Kenyans to this modern slavery, which I am ashamed to say our government has exposed us to. Then I see the Labour CS busy campaigning for foreign jobs... God have mercy.
Lastly, I am urging Kenyans to shun off Rangers Security Services by all means until this rot is cleaned. For now, kindly stay away."
Hi Nyakundi. Kindly assist in calling out Tahmeed Express Services. I booked 3 seats from Mtwapa to Nairobi at Ksh 2,500 each only to find myself on such a vehicle.
