@hardsci Helpful thread! In work w/ middle schoolers, I get “don’t know what these words mean” with census labels. With open ended prompts i struggled with the question to ask. “What is your race/ethnicity/cultural group…” same confusion. Lots want to say “I’m brown”. Still stuck.
@AlisonLedg At my kid’s school they don’t test kindergartners. And rely on self reports of symptoms. They say “Damn it our school won’t close!” So ALL the kids including our vaxxed one has gotten sick. I call it the “bury your head in the sand ostrich approach” to public health.
