@addisstandard Large scale #humantrafficking by a gov’t abrogating its responsibility to protect citizens. @UNODC defines trafficking as “the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of people through force, fraud or deception, with the aim of exploiting them for profit”

@NeaminZeleke @AbiyAhmedAli Separating @AbiyAhmedAli’s govt from the actions of Oromo PP is counter productive. He was elected by Oromo PP and in charge of the party and gov’t. His administration is responsible for what’s happening in #Ethiopia.

[Ermias Belay @EBelay]

@NeaminZeleke What does it take for Ethiopian civic organizations to collectively call for the resignation of Abiy’s administration? They broke all the rules in the book and failed in every critical aspect of governance. Better now than before things get out of hand.

[Ermias Belay @EBelay]

@NeaminZeleke PP is EPRDF by another name (minus TPLF). Oromia PP cannot be separated from the PP led by the PM. Crimes of Oromia PP are crimes of PP, and hence the PM. It doesn’t absolve the PM of impunity. We should be very clear about the state of the country.

@AbiyAhmedAli Talking about wheat export is heartless when millions of citizens are internally displaced, in need of food assistance, and in near famine conditions. In case you don’t know, read https://t.co/BnhSlYJDB5.

@AlemayehuGK @_mahder_ @BerhanuNegaB

[Ermias Belay @EBelay]

[Ermias Belay @EBelay]

@SuleimanDedefo Unfortunately, corrupt leaders benefit from the aid (ex, jailed commissioner). Ethiopia’s major enemies include corruption and ethnic division. External enemies only exploit the weaknesses that exist internally. Unless addressed, they will continue to make the country vulnerable

@EliasMeseret Last week, flying back to ATL, a security guy would not let me into Bole airport because I didn’t have an airline ticket. Calmly I said I don’t have a paper ticket (who does?) and have to get my boarding pass at the counter. He said he didn’t care and held me there for a few min.

[Ermias Belay @EBelay]

@RedwanHussien If all you have to show as a sign of development is parks and museums, country is in trouble. How about the basics? Fighting corruption, water and electricity distribution, taming inflation, expanding small businesses, creating jobs. Did I say fighting out-of-control corruption?

Deepest-ever view of the cosmos from @NASAWebb. The spiked objects are local stars in our own Galaxy. ignore them. Everything else is an entire galaxy. Many distort into arcs, revealing spacetime curvature from the gravity of a galaxy cluster in the image's center.

@HermelaTV @PMEthiopia Holding the criminals accountable is not only the responsibility and obligation of EoG but also an essential action to build confidence.

[hermela aregawi @HermelaTV]

.@PMEthiopia has said there are people within Govt that act like PP during the day & OLF at night. Following #Welega attacks, begs the question.. How many people w/in regional or fed Govt are in custody for potential involvement in the attacks? Anyone know the answer? #NoMore

[Ethio-American Development Council (EADC) @EA_DevCouncil]

It's concerning that "National Peace & Security" is the #6 priority for the Ethiopian govt—not the TOP priority. Shouldn't the security & safety of citizens be the single most important priority of any govt? Particularly at such a tragic time when civilians are being massacared?
