I am a working mom who is just trying to figure out a life balance. This twitter account is to rant and rave about life. These are my opinions. She/her.
talking #USTA Foundation strategy with my boss Jeff Harrison. It's all about helping under resourced youth through tennis and education. Who's that woman in the middle?❤️
Secretary Buttigieg on the homophobic DeSantis video talking to CNN: "I'm going to leave aside the strangeness of trying to prove your manhood by putting up a video that splices images of you in between oiled-up, shirtless bodybuilders."
"And just get to the bigger issue that is on my mind whenever I see this stuff in the policy space, which is, again: Who are you trying to help? Who are you trying to make better off? And what public policy problems do you get up in the morning thinking about how to solve?"
Pete Buttigieg is in another league.
They once asked him about how he’d respond to Donald Trump taking swipes at marriages like his.
His answer is one for the books:
“The idea of the likes of Donald Trump lecturing anybody on family values…
I mean, I’m sorry but one thing about my marriage is it’s never involved me having to send hush money to a porn star after cheating on my spouse, with him or her.
So, if they want to debate family values, let’s debate family values, I’m ready.”
Pete Buttigieg gives me hope for the future. He just has a great way of communicating.
Anyone else feel that way?
The same Supreme Court that overturned Roe now refuses to follow the plain language of the law on student loan cancellation. This fight is not over. The President has more tools to cancel student debt — and he must use them.
Clarence Thomas.
You just voted to gut affirmative action and student loan forgiveness.
Let’s take a look how you got into Yale, shall we?
During your 58-page concurring opinion, you wrote that the foundational policies of affirmative action "fly in the face of our colorblind Constitution and our Nation's equality ideal.”
But Justice Thomas, we did a little digging and it turns out that Yale university followed an affirmative action policy at the time you attended its law school.
There’s more.
In 1991 a New York Times article about you reported that Yale University officials confirmed you were admitted to its law school "under an explicit affirmative action plan with the goal of having blacks and other minority members make up about 10 percent of the entering class."
It appears clear from the testimony of Yale officials that your admission to the Yale School of Law was made at the time of affirmative action policies and was almost certainly influenced by it.
We should also mention that
you secretly accepted $150,000 in tuition payments from rightwing billionaire Harlan Crowe, but you just voted to strike down loan forgiveness for students who need it.
There is something absolutely tragic about the fact that the benefits of
affirmative action helped create a Justice Thomas who will now deny many young African American talented individuals the same opportunity.
Justice Thomas, if you’re so against affirmative action, I suggest you resign from the Bench.
I’m sorry. In America, your right to exercise your religion doesn’t give you a right to discriminate.
If your business is open to the public, you don’t retain some license to discriminate based on religious belief. Religious bigotry is still bigotry.
SCOTUS should be ashamed.
For the first time in history—and on the last day of #PrideMonth, no less—the Supreme Court legalized discrimination against a protected class. I am furious by today's decision to green light hate and limit the LGBTQI+ community's participation in our economy. Congress must act.
It is very important to note this SCOTUS ruling does NOT remove Biden’s ability to pursue student loan forgiveness.
The Biden Admin can use the HEA (Higher Ed Act) - our position from the start - to continue loan forgiveness before payments resume. They should do so ASAP.
Justice Alito accepted tens of thousands of dollars in lavish vacation gifts from a billionaire who lobbied to cancel the student loan forgiveness.
After the gifts, Alito voted to overturn. This SCOTUS’ corruption undercuts its own legitimacy by putting its rulings up for sale.
No, you dipshit.
It doesn’t mean that at all.
What this means is that the kids of white Harvard students will continue to get legacy rides and white students with more privileged backgrounds will benefit from tutors, better schools, and more resources simply because of a system created to perpetuate inequality.
What it showed us is that the right is on a crusade to eliminate all progress we’ve made on racial issues in this country and take us back to an evil time in our history.
It showed us that every election matters.
Michelle Obama said it best.
“So often, we just accept that money, power and privilege are perfectly justifiable forms of affirmative action, while kids growing up like I did are expected to compete when the ground is anything but level.”
You and your racist friends are unfit to be a part of our government.
I'm glad @POTUS is signing this, but it's unacceptable that women are where we are in this country when it comes to decisions about our own bodies. This will rightly be a huge issue at the polls.
You know what's the best part of Trump getting indicted for espionage?
Trump signed a law changing the penalty for mishandling classified docs to 5 years in prison & made it a felony.
The law he signed to punish Hillary will be used against him.

We must get rid of the debt ceiling permanently.
President Biden did his job protecting our economy from a bunch of hostage takers, but Republicans should never have put our country in this position to begin with.
The American people deserve better—and I’ll fight hard for it.
Ga Power is going to raise power bills by 10% because they ran out of their fuel budget. Rather than shave off their RECORD profits, they're going to charge you more. Approved unanimously by the Republican commission.
