What is Sustainability?

Sustainability in everyone lives can mean many different things. In Construction, the use of organic materials and more eco-friendly practices when it comes to design and development of buildings can help us save the earth for the next generations.

One of the Sustainable practice at my job site is to encourage workers to bring re-useable water bottles. We provide many water refill stations throughout the site for them to use their BPA safe steel or glass bottles.

@JenniferEspail2 @FIU_MossSchool Hell yea...respect. These guys would be hundreds of feet in the air, like it was a regular day. They are the reasons why we have buildings which have been up for decades. This shows America at the height of the industrial age.

@DBrianaBlackma1 @FIU_MossSchool Construction framing, may it be wood or concrete or metal. It is all important for the backbone of the project. It is probably the most important part of the project since once already done, you can't really go back on it or shouldn't.

@fiu_sam @FIU_MossSchool I don't know if this is a wood product in construction but man it is freaking beautiful to look at. The timber formation of a latticed canopy most have been planned down to the "T" for it all to come together right.

@Renzo_Sing @FIU_MossSchool While I agree, steel construction has its beauty. Clean, neat and just the shear spans it can make is nothing short of amazing. I am a little more old school and like wood and concrete. It is the old man in me. Now when you can include all three that there is a thing of beauty.

@JenniferEspail2 @FIU_MossSchool I chose Precasting but site casting is a whole other animal. It has to be timed right, under the right conditions and under supervision to make sure that it takes correctly. Good choice, Jen.

@chris_comas @FIU_MossSchool Tell me about it, I'm a big heat lifer but to be a part of the company who built it would have been so amazing. I must have already been to more than a dozen heat games, but anyone who was part of the build who goes to watch a concert or game must have a different feeling.

@JacobTMcClella1 @FIU_MossSchool I work for a local municipality in South Florida, one of requirements is a geo-technical report of the soil. It is important to what type of piles can be put in that area. The report looks like the old white pages of the phone book, but it is so necessary.
