To my supporters, leaders and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) @NigeriaNDCHQ party members across Mbaitoli/Ikeduru (MbaIke) Federal Constituency, thank you for your unwavering confidence, support and patience.
As we await the official announcement of the Primary Election from our party, I urge you to remain calm and patient. The NDC is following the right process in the emergence of its candidates. As disciplined party members, we must respect and trust the process, avoiding actions or statements that may undermine it.
The results from MbaIke federal constituency showed the overwhelming confidence that party members have placed in my aspiration. I remain humbled and grateful to have received the highest number of votes. While I remain optimistic about the final outcome, I believe it is important that we allow the party to complete its processes in accordance with its principles and guidelines.
I therefore encourage you all to keep hope alive, continue praying, remain peaceful, and use this period to strengthen our grassroots engagement. Speak to one or two people in your communities every day about @PeterObi and Dr. Obi so that once the announcement is made, we would continue from the foundation that has been laid.
I believe that a New Nigeria is POssible with Mr. Peter Obi and Sen @KwankwasoRM in the Executive, and it is DOable with Dr. @ebirimobinna (Chief Dr. Obinna Ebirim) in the Legislative. Grateful to our Leader, Senator @iamHSDickson for providing a platform for us to aspire, serve, and lead.

As an elected federal legislator, would it be too harsh to push for a law mandating all elected officials and political appointees, together with their nuclear families, to only use Nigerian public or personally-owned services for education, healthcare, transportation, accommodation, and security?
Imagine a law requiring public office holders to either resign or only use:
1. Government or personally-owned Nigerian schools (not private or foreign schools)
2. Government or personally-owned Nigerian hospitals and healthcare facilities (except in clearly defined emergencies)
3. Government or personally-owned transportation systems and airlines (where unavailable, commercial airlines—but never private jets)
4. Government or personally-owned accommodation facilities, including student hostels where applicable
5. Public or indigenous security services available to ordinary citizens
In Nigeria, most of those responsible for managing public institutions are often insulated from the consequences of their failure.
When public schools deteriorate, they send their children to private schools or abroad.
When public hospitals lack equipment or manpower, they go private or fly abroad for routine medical checkups.
When commercial air travel becomes inconvenient, they switch to private jets.
When insecurity worsens, they rely on layers of protection unavailable to ordinary Nigerians.
As a result, there is often little urgency to fix what is broken. Worse still, maintaining these alternatives increases the cost of governance and can fuel corruption as officials seek to sustain expensive lifestyles at public expense.
History shows that political will increases when leaders have no alternative. During COVID-19 Pandemic and associated lockdowns, governments paid closer attention to healthcare because even the wealthy could not easily access foreign medical facilities. Likewise, whenever insecurity directly affects political leaders and elite communities, responses tend to become swifter and more decisive.
What if every public official knew that the quality of their child's education depended on the quality of public schools?
What if the same hospitals used by ordinary Nigerians were also used by ministers, commissioners, advisers, and LGA chairmen?
What if policymakers experienced public services exactly as the people they serve do?
Would our schools, hospitals, transportation systems, and security architecture look the same today?
Maybe the path to a better Nigeria is not only electing better leaders, but also creating laws that give leaders the strongest possible incentive to improve the lives of the people they serve.
What do you think? I would genuinely like to hear your thoughts.

Would you support me to drive legislation that automates government regulatory, compliance, enforcement, procurement, and electoral processes to reduce corruption, increase transparency, and minimize human interference in Nigeria?
For decades, Nigerians have complained about corruption, favoritism, selective enforcement of regulations, manipulation of public processes, and the abuse of discretionary powers by public officials. This is because many government functions still depend heavily on human discretion, creating opportunities for bribery, extortion, favoritism, political influence, and manipulation.
While we continue to pursue ethical reorientation and institutional reforms, technology provides us with a powerful opportunity to address many of these challenges by reducing unnecessary human interference in government processes.
Imagine what would happen if we legislate laws that:
1. Conduct elections through secure, fully automated digital processes with real-time public transmission of results from every polling unit.
2. Automate traffic and road safety enforcement through vehicle plate recognition systems that identify violations and issue penalties directly to registered vehicle owners or their NIN without roadside negotiations.
3. Automate government fees, taxes, permits, and council charges through transparent digital platforms linked to property, utility, and business records.
4. Ensure that government contracts are advertised, evaluated, awarded, monitored, and paid through technology-driven systems based on measurable performance indicators, competence, localization requirements, and value for money.
5. Establish publicly accessible dashboards that allow citizens to monitor government spending, projects, revenues, and procurement activities in real time.
When decisions are driven by transparent systems rather than personal relationships, influence, or financial inducements, fairness becomes easier to achieve. Although, tech cannot eliminate corruption entirely but it can significantly reduce the opportunities for corruption to occur.
I believe ICT must become one of Nigeria's strongest anti-corruption tools. While we continue to build character, ethics, and patriotism among our people, we must also redesign systems so that corruption becomes more difficult, less profitable, and easier to detect.

Mma dị nkọ enwe isi; nke nwere isi adị nkọ.
Life often confronts us with choices that are far from perfect. The sharp knife may lack the handle needed for a good cut, while the one with a good handle may lack the edge needed to cut effectively.
So it is with many of the choices we make. Rarely do we find perfection. Every option carries its strengths and weaknesses, its virtues and its flaws. Wisdom lies not in being captivated by appearances, but in discerning what truly matters and what can genuinely deliver the desired outcome.
In the end, time reveals what rhetoric conceals. Positive change is not born from fine speeches, grand promises, or attractive slogans but from competence and consistent action shaped by character and values.
I pray for the speedy and safe release of the abducted Oyo State teachers and students!
I can’t imagine the pain and agony their families are passing through.🙏🏾
Would you want me to sponsor a bill that will drive Nigeria's agricultural revolution by mandating all 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) to own and manage a minimum of 10 hectares of farmland and co-own at least one agro-allied industry linked to the agricultural products that thrive within their locality?
Nigeria is blessed with vast agricultural potential, yet millions of our young people remain unemployed, food prices continue to rise, rural economies remain underdeveloped, and many communities depend heavily on federal allocations rather than productive economic activities. Despite decades of discussions about food security and economic diversification, many LGAs have little or no direct involvement in agricultural production or value addition within their jurisdictions.
Imagine what would happen if we intentionally strengthened our laws so that:
1. Every one of Nigeria's 774 LGAs is required to establish, own, and manage a minimum of 10 hectares of farmland dedicated to crops, livestock, fisheries, poultry, or other agricultural enterprises best suited to their local environment, based on comparative advantage, climate suitability, soil conditions, local expertise, and market demand.
2. Each LGA is mandated to co-own (with at least 25% of the shares) and support at least one agro-allied processing industry directly linked to the produce from its farmland, ensuring value addition before products reach the market.
3. Agricultural development becomes a measurable responsibility of every local government rather than an optional programme.
4. The law would provide a transition period of six months to one year after presidential assent. Any LGA that fails to establish the required farmland and agro-allied industry within the stipulated timeframe would have implementation undertaken on its behalf through a designated federal agency funded through direct deductions from its FAAC allocation.
In simple terms: Do it yourself, or a federal agency will do it for you using your allocation.
Imagine the impact within just 12 to 18 months of an @NigeriaNDCHQ government taking office:
1. At least 7,740 hectares of publicly owned productive farmland operating across Nigeria.
2. At least 774 agro-allied industries creating jobs and adding value to local agricultural produce.
3. Nigeria significantly improves food security by expanding local production while reducing dependence on imported food products. Increased food production lowers pressure on food prices.
4. Thousands of direct and indirect jobs are created for young people through farming, processing, transportation, storage, marketing, equipment maintenance, and other agricultural value-chain activities.
5. Rural economies become centres of production and enterprise rather than merely administrative headquarters dependent on monthly allocations.
6. Communities benefit from increased internally generated revenue through agricultural and industrial activities.
7. Young people gain meaningful economic opportunities that reduce the attraction of crime, drug abuse, cultism, kidnapping, and other social vices.
8. Farmers, cooperatives, small businesses, and investors benefit from stronger local supply chains and guaranteed processing facilities.
Sometimes, development does not happen because government lacks resources; it happens because government lacks obligations. When agricultural production and agro-industrialization become legal responsibilities rather than policy aspirations, every LGA becomes an engine of economic growth, food security, and job creation.

NDC…Service to the People & to God.

To the glory of God, and with immense gratitude to my family, friends, supporters, and party faithfuls, I emerged with the highest number of votes in the @NigeriaNDCHQ Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primary election for the Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency.
The election was conducted yesterday in Nwaoriubi, Mbaitoli LGA, and Akabo, Ikeduru LGA; locations far from both my paternal ward of Inyishi/Umudim in Ikeduru LGA and my maternal ward of Orodo A in Mbaitoli LGA. The process was supervised by the NDC LGA Chairmen serving as Returning Officers, with INEC representative Mr. Emmanuel and DSS representative Mr. Samson witnessing the exercise.
This victory was hard fought and came with tense moments. While I lost in Ikeduru LGA, the overwhelming support and margin of victory recorded in Mbaitoli LGA, one of the most populous local government areas in Imo State, secured our overall victory. Interestingly, I had also won overwhelmingly across both LGAs in an earlier primary conducted the previous day under less supervision, before a clarification from the national leadership confirmed that the election could validly hold on 29th May 2026. Whichever date was considered, the verdict of my people remained the same.
Following the declaration of results, I proceeded to the State Party Secretariat, where I addressed members of the television press and remained vigilant in ensuring that every vote cast was protected and accurately accounted for.
I sincerely appreciate everyone who stood with us throughout this process. Your trust, encouragement, sacrifices, prayers, and commitment made this victory possible. This success belongs to all of us and marks the beginning of a greater journey toward purposeful representation, inclusive development, and people-centred leadership for the people of Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency. To my co-aspirants, I remain committed to our pre-primary election commitment to work with each other and work hard to secure victory for our party. We are all winners!
May God Almighty bless you all abundantly.
Would you support an amendment to Nigeria’s disability law that holds both public institutions and private building owners financially accountable when persons living with disabilities cannot access their buildings or its facilities due to non-compliance with accessibility standards?
Nigeria already has laws intended to protect and promote the inclusion of persons living with disabilities. However, across our country today, many public and private buildings remain inaccessible to those the law was meant to protect.
Many persons living with disabilities still struggle daily with buildings without ramps or elevators, inaccessible toilets and walkways, poor parking and entry access, offices and public spaces designed without inclusion in mind, and institutions that ignore compliance because enforcement is weak
Imagine what would happen if we intentionally strengthened the law so that:
1. Public organizations occupying inaccessible buildings become directly financial accountable to those they exclude.
2. Private building owners pay compensation when invited persons living with disabilities cannot access their premises and facilities
3. Accessibility compliance becomes a serious legal and financial responsibility
4. Citizens are empowered to hold institutions accountable for violations
5. Nigeria begins to design cities and public spaces that truly include everyone
Sometimes, real compliance begins when non-compliance becomes costly and holding one accountable becomes lucrative. If organizations and building owners repeatedly face financial consequences for excluding persons living with disabilities who can make money from suing them, many will begin to prioritize accessibility the same way they prioritize aesthetics, rent, and profit.

Would you support a legislation that criminalizes the sale and purchase of designated green areas and waterways captured in approved city plans, while also empowering residents within affected communities to sue individuals and authorities violating such laws?
One of the most dangerous and flagrant abuses of power by the current administration is the conversion and allocation/ sale of designated green areas and waterways for private development and political patronage.
Areas originally designed in city plans to serve as parks, recreational spaces, environmental buffers, and drainage channels are gradually disappearing. Many citizens do not even have access to the original city plans that guide the development of their communities.
Imagine what would happen if we intentionally developed a stronger and more transparent urban planning laws that:
1. Criminalizes illegal allocation, sale and development of green areas and waterways
2. Makes approved city plans publicly available and visibly displayed in city council / LGA offices and planning authorities
3. Gives residents within a perimeter of affected areas, the legal standing to challenge violations affecting their communities
4. Protects and Preserves recreational and ecological spaces for future generations
5. Strengthens accountability in physical planning and land administration
A nation cannot build healthy and livable cities while destroying the very environmental systems that sustain them. Green areas are not just empty lands but they make our cities beautiful, improve public health by helping clean the air we breathe as trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, and they absorb water, reduce heat, and provide shelter for birds and biodiversity.
Likewise, waterways are not “unused spaces” but critical flood-control channels designed to protect lives and property, especially during heavy rains like we are increasingly witnessing in Abuja and other cities, where flooding now limits movement and access, damages vehicles and homes, destroys infrastructure, and in some tragic cases, leads to loss of lives.
I strongly believe that a New Nigeria is POssible with Mr. @PeterObi / Sen. @KwankwasoRM in the Executive, and DOable with Dr @ebirimobinna (Chief Dr. Obinna Ebirim) in the Legislative. Grateful for a successful screening yesterday.

Would you support a legislation that makes it mandatory for all public hospitals and schools in Nigeria, including those at the primary level, to have adjoining staff accommodation and operational vehicles for at least three cadres of workers in order to improve retention of health workers and teachers and reduce brain drain?
Across our country today, many doctors, nurses, teachers, and other critical service providers are leaving rural and underserved communities not only because of poor salaries, but because of harsh working and living conditions.
Many are posted to communities where there is No decent accommodation, No operational mobility, Poor welfare support and Weak security and infrastructure. Yet, they are expected to provide quality healthcare and education to millions of Nigerians.
This is one of the ideas I hope to champion in the National Assembly:
1. Making staff quarters mandatory in public schools and hospitals
2. Providing operational vehicles for critical service delivery staff
3. Strengthening rural healthcare and education systems
4. Improving retention of teachers and healthcare professionals
5. Reducing brain drain and internal migration from underserved communities
6. Restoring dignity, efficiency, and attractiveness to public service
A nation develops faster when those serving the people are properly supported to do their work effectively.

Would you support a legislation that gives tax breaks for social good in Nigeria?
Across our country today, many Nigerians are already using their personal resources to build roads, support schools, equip hospitals, provide scholarships, sponsor widows, empower youths, and uplift their communities where government presence is limited.
Imagine what would happen if we intentionally encouraged and rewarded more of this through a legislative framework that provides tax incentives and recognition for individuals, businesses, and organizations genuinely investing in community development and social impact.
This is one of the ideas I hope to champion in the National Assembly beyond my health field:
1. Encouraging private investment in social development and springing up of local donor organizations
2. Supporting community-driven projects by community members
3. Expanding access to education, healthcare, housing and transport.
4. Promoting local manufacturing partnerships
5. Making patriotism practical and impactful
A nation grows faster when government and citizens work together for the common good.

Some days ago, I announced my readiness to hit the media and communities to speak about my new party, the @NigeriaNDCHQ Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Well, Heaven heard that declaration. On Thursday, I received a chat from a staff of @AIT_Online requesting my presence as a guest on today’s edition of AIT THE WEEKEND SHOW – POLITICS, and I gladly accepted.
Today, I will be speaking about Nigeria’s most organised and people-oriented political party, determined to serve the people, humanity, and God.
A party already beginning to walk the talk through its commitment to integrity, measurable results, and responsible leadership.
A party founded on the enduring principles of:
✅ SERVICE BEFORE SELF
✅ INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTH
✅ PRODUCTIVITY-BASED PROSPERITY
✅ INCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY
✅ TRANSPARENCY & ACCOUNTABILITY
Nigerians are tired of excuses. We cannot continue with a system where leaders claim subsidy removal have improved savings and that revenue targets have being met, yet ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) cannot get their capital projects, contractors remain unpaid, businesses are collapsing, and ordinary citizens keep suffering. Tufiakwa!!!
A nation cannot move forward when public wealth meant for development is removed from FAAC for campaigns without legislation and worse still cannot be accounted for when needed by the same leaders who wrongfully took it.
Nigeria deserves better. And that is why conversations like this matter. Join me today as we discuss the future of our country and the role NDC intends to play in rebuilding trust, restoring hope, and delivering real governance to Nigerians. A new Nigeria is POssible and DOable

Someone just got me very angry because of my joining the @NigeriaNDCHQ - Nigeria Democratic Congress and because of this, by the grace of God, I will do all I can to ensure @PeterObi - Mr. Peter Obi and @KwankwasoRM - Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso becomes President and Vice President of Nigeria in 2027 and in 2031, I will also fully support Sen. Kwankwaso to be the next President of Nigeria.

The level of hate toward @OfficialAPCNg All Progressives Congress is truly eye-opening. Since joining @NigeriaNDCHQ Nigeria Democratic Congress, the love, goodwill, and acceptance I have received have made me reflect deeply on how I had associated with an anti-people party these years. For that, I am sorry
Some friends actually distanced themselves from me, while many who cared about me kept praying for me. Some said it was a deliverance to leave APC and a proof that God answers prayer. How can a party be so cancerous and white-staining?
I am now fully prepared to go on radio, TV, newspapers, social media, and into our communities to passionately promote NDC and the @PeterObi / @KwankwasoRM ticket. What excites me most is that they are an easy sell because of their ethical leadership and history of promoting human capital development during and after their time as State Governors.
Today, I officially tendered my resignation as the Senior Technical Advisor on Youth Health and Policy Research to the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, following my resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) after 12 remarkable years as a member.
Serving Nigerian youth at the highest level of policy and programme development has been one of the greatest honours of my life. It gave me the opportunity to contribute to conversations, ideas, and initiatives aimed at creating a better future for millions of young Nigerians.
I must sincerely appreciate the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Olawande Emmanuel Ayodele, who undoubtedly remains one of the most passionate, accessible, and youth-focused youth minister Nigeria has ever had. His genuine commitment to protecting, empowering, and creating opportunities for Nigerian youth is visible to everyone who works with him or observes him closely.
Throughout my time in office, I learnt from his leadership, humility, and dedication to service. While we may not have achieved everything we envisioned due to fiscal realities and operational constraints, I remain proud of the initiatives we implemented, the structures we established, and the vision we consistently championed for Nigerian youth.
To my colleagues, partners, stakeholders, friends, and every young person who believed in our vision, thank you for your trust, encouragement, and support throughout this journey.
To my colleagues, partners, stakeholders, friends, and every young person who believed in our vision, thank you for your trust, encouragement, and support throughout this journey.
As one chapter closes, another begins. I leave with gratitude in my heart, valuable lessons learnt, lifelong relationships built, and an unwavering commitment to the progress of Nigerian youth and national development, irrespective of the platform through which I choose to serve tomorrow.
The journey continues!
