This morning, we got a credit of 10 million naira from Nathaniel Nwachuku @_KingNath in support of South East Maths Olympiad.

He is the CEO of Terra Industries - Africa’s largest defense manufacturer.

Nath is a gifted child and ex Physics Olympiad.

He said, this is the first of many.

He will also be a major supporter for the South East Football Championship in 2026.

In total, we have received 15 million naira towards the maths Olympiad.

We will now introduce prices for second and third positions in all categories.

Gradually, we will get it right.

Signs that you've walked into an information operation organised by a foreign intelligence agency as an African journalist:

- A shadowy NGO flies you out for a program in Accra/Nairobi/Cape Town for a week and puts you up at the local Kempinski/4 Seasons, which start from $500/night.

- The NGO doesn't clearly explain who is funding the largesse and why. You are encouraged to have fun, eat the food, and make sure to take part in whatever program they have organised at the 5 star hotel.

- The program in question is facilitated almost entirely by white people. The greatest extent of local involvement is that an African is the one operating the projector or passing around the notes for audience participation.

- The goal of the program is to get you to write something specific, but the muzungus spend hours nudging and gaslighting you into agreeing that it was your own idea, and that you will write it because you want to, not because you are obligated to.

- The muzungu facilitators use phrases like "We do not want to dictate what story you should write or how to write it. We're only trying to help you become better journalists."

*TRANSLATION*: "We absolutely want to dictate what story you should write and how you should write it, but we need you to convince yourself that it was your idea so that you will organically publicise and defend the published story, and you will also assume all blowback or consequences. Our muzungu lives and reputations are more important than yours - your job is to be our cheap, effective, expendable ventriloquist dummy without realising it."

- Despite having all the money to fly you around Africa, wining and dining you all the way, the NGO isn't interested in using its money and influence to get your published article placed in international media - it specifically wants it placed in the local media you work with, because your audience is the target of the entire operation.

- The NGO refuses to be identified anywhere in writing as the sponsor of the project in question. It does not agree for your sponsored article to be labelled correctly as sponsored or supported. It wants to leverage your name recognition and your audience to push a specific message, but it wants to remain entirely hidden out of sight.

- In some cases, the NGO makes you sign a non-disclosure agreement to ensure that its role in your story remains hidden. (This is important because in journalism, visibility is everything, so a funding entity wanting to be kept hidden to the extent of making you sign an NDA is a MAJOR RED FLAG.)

- If the article in question blows up spectacularly in your face and generates backlash, the muzungus repeatedly encourage you to stay quiet, to not defend your honour publicly, to avoid engaging on social media, and to keep reporting any news developments about the issue to them.

That's actually an intelligence agency trying to ensure that its classified operation remains concealed, that you don't reveal information that could lead back to it in the process of engaging and defending yourself, and that it is on top of any change in situation so that it can cover its own ass adequately. You will, of course, receive no help whatsoever. Your entire purpose is to be expendable.

And in case you're thinking, "Wait I've had experiences with elements of all this, but it was BBC Africa Eye instead of a shadowy NGO with unclear funding - surely that couldn't have been a clandestine intelligence operation?" My answer is, unending layers of doubt, misdirection, and deceit are literally the lifeblood of foreign intelligence operations.

In Islam, providing water source e.g boreholes, wells for people is one of the charities that is perpetual or everlasting. Even when you are dead you will continue to receive reward.
You would have thought with the so called love for Islam in the northern part of the country there would be no place in need of boreholes there due to competition to partake in this goodie of getting everlasting reward.

Instead the love for Islam is to take lives that they didn’t create in the name of love for Islam.

For those of us who do not understand what is going on here. I will try my best to explain the meaning of MPC, MPR, CRR & Liquidity Ratio. WALK WITH ME & retweet for others.

Monetary Policy Rate or MPR is a tool employed by Central Banks, & it is used to control money supply in the economy, lending rates & inflation as well.

If a central bank is a mechanic, then screw drivers & spanners are the MPR.

The 400 basis points simply mean 4%. Therefore, Yemi Cardoso’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) raised MPR by 4%. From 18.75% to 22.75%.

Raising the MPR could curb inflation & woo investors. Because investors like higher interest rates when they buy government issued treasury bills & government bonds.

Investors stay away from a country when inflationary rates are higher than interest rates. But I ncreasing interest rate from 18.75% to 22.75% could also lead to slower economic growth, lower consumer spending, & higher interests on loans. So it’s a double-edged sword.

The CBN is targeting inflation with this policy. But has it worked in the past? THE ANSWER IS NO! Emefiele tried it several times, & it kept on failing. It won’t work on food inflation by the way. The biggest driver of inflation in Nigeria is Food Inflation.

Using monetary policies to target food inflation is counterproductive, because farmers can’t go to their farms. You need to fix the supply side first, before the polices can work.

Food inflation can only be tackled when farmers return to their farms. This can only happen when you fight insecurity to a standstill.

Again, raising Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) to 45% means that banks are now required to retain 45% of customer’s cash deposits with the CBN. So CRR is the CBN debits to commercial banks. It means that First bank or Access Bank must keep 45% of your cash deposits with the Central Bank of Nigeria.

This way, banks will no longer retain huge amount of cash in their vaults to lend to customers. Therefore higher CRR discourages borrowing & lending at the same time.

Liquidity ratio is banks balance sheet, or health status. It tells you if a bank is able to pay off its debts & liabilities. Or if a bank has kwashiorkor.

Liquidity ratio is a bank’s cash balance + assets it can easily convert to cash; like vehicles & real estate. A healthy Liquidity ratio must always be maintained because it measures the total liabilities of the bank, which is typically their customer’s cash deposits.

A liquidity ratio of 30% mandates bank to have current assets of up to 30% against their liabilities. Less than 30% shows that a bank is unhealthy.

“The Asymmetric Corridor of +100/-700 basis points around the MPR” simply means that the Central bank will lend to commercial banks at 23.75% (22.75 + 100). But it will borrow from commercial banks at 15.75% (22.75-700).

Remember that when you see +100 basis points, it means 1%. And when you see -700 basic points, it means -7%.

By this. the CBN is telling the commercial banks not to keep their cash with the CBN & earn so little (15.75%). The CBN is telling the banks to go out there & find lenders in the real sectors so that the banks could earn higher interests.

If the Central bank wants to reduce the cash in circulation, it can adjust this corridor, then pay the commercial banks higher rates, & the banks will move their cash away from their vaults to the CBN, therefore reducing the cash in circulation & inflation as well.

I'm Victoria Ugoji from Sierra Leone. My late father Philip Ugoji fled the Biafra war in Nigeria and moved to Sierra Leone with his uncle when he was only 11years old. His uncle who brought him to Sierra Leone, later became a lecturer at the Fouray Bay college, university of Sierra Leone. His uncle returned to Nigeria after the war but left my dad behind. He married my mum and they gave birth to two of us, myself and my brother Victor. My dad unfortunately died when I was only 14years old. My mum did not know much about him so I couldn't get more information about his family in Nigeria. The only information I got from Nigeria is a post code of the school he attended as he used to send letters to his brother. Some names of his siblings were Rowland and Ebere Ugoji.
