It was originally called Decoration Day and it included a parade, but the most remarkable detail to me is that the newly freed dug up bodies of Union soldiers from mass graves, identified them and gave proper burials.

Instead of comparing America to 1930’s Germany, it is more useful to compare today with America’s history of systemic violence, dating back to the 1500’s. Apples to apples might provide better answers to combat today’s sanctioned violence. Revisit our history.

@Logically_JC It took quite some time for working people to apply for SNAP. When the program rolled out it was under utilized. In addition to the lowest paid workers, without benefits, it took outreach and support for unionized workers, with benefits, to apply. They saw it as a stigma.

I read differently. I used to read lots of fiction, a book or two a week. I now read tons; shorter nonfiction material and more research on a wider variety of subjects.
