@MaritStiles What are your thoughts on mandatory financial literacy modules in high school and how they could help students navigate tuition, aid, and living costs?
Hi @MaritStiles, I'm researching financial barriers to post-secondary education in Canada. Rising tuition and living costs are forcing students to delay or drop out. What policy steps could better support equitable access?
Research shows that "lack of willpower" isn't the only thing stopping students from eating well. High prices and a lack of campus spaces to prep/heat meals are huge "objective barriers."

Harrison Ford was in tears during his super emotional Lifetime Achievement Award speech. This was so good
"Sometimes we make entertainment. Sometimes we make art. Sometimes, if we're lucky, we make 'em both at the same time. And if we're really fortunate, we also get to make a living doing it. Success in this business brings a certain freedom that comes with responsibility to support each other, to lift others up when we can. To keep the door open for the next kid, the next lost boy who's looking for a place to belong. I'm, indeed, a lucky guy. Lucky to have found my people. Lucky to have work that challenges me. Lucky to still be doing it. And I don't take that for granted."

@Lilli_AM26's concept map shows the importance of access to strong outlets, such as counselling, to support students' mental health. Lack of access to such risks, poor academic performatnce and long term life style consequences .#EM203problems
@ClaraEm203 Recognizing the various learning preferences is such an important step in education as it is very true that not everyone learns effectively the same way. I think the flexibility of the learning options and mediums available online is a strength of technology.
@em203mkataria Deep focus is so underrated. Last week certainly exposed that multitasking is not as efficient as we like to believe! With all the technology available to us, its hard not to want to split your attention.
@EshanEM203 This course has definitely given me an appreciation for the digital age and the multitude of mediums of learning we have accessible! I agree that combining them can really improve learning and proper understanding!
@EM203RCrego I found learning about connectivism really interesting! I had never considered that knowledge as an independent construction to the extent the theory highlights. I like the active role of students it encompasses.
@EM203julia You make a great point about collaboration being a great way to learn! I think this is especially relevant in online learning as it can be quite isolating without the natural in person interactions.
Learning about learning in the digital age in these first weeks of #EM203 has been great! The 3 Ms highlights how multi-media is engaging, multi-modal adapts to how we process, and multi-tasking humbles us by reminding us we cannot do it all effectively at once.
