Three Reasons High School S&C positions aren’t entry level:
1. Sheer volume of athletes - both overall and by session
2. Constraints - space, time, resources…your textbook methods are no good here
3. Outside interference - club, “trainers,” Dad + garage
Sport coaches, parents, athletes, clubs & organizations; PLEASE make sure you are working with a qualified professional in the S&C industry.
Let’s avoid allowing IG coaches access to hurt our athletes & lay foundations for more issues down the line.

Big things happening on the big stage this April! Honored to have our very own @ebratch_3 presenting at the NSCA North Carolina clinic with the opportunity to speak to and learn from so many decorated coaches. #strengthandconditioning
Body language will add or subtract value to what’s being communicated with your athletes. If you care, square up to them, get on their level, look them in the eye, you’ll be surprised how much more of your coaching is absorbed when they can feel you care with nonverbal actions.
Contact Prep is a big part of what I do in the weight room. In North Carolina high school football players typically go without contact for 8 1/2 months. That's a great way to get injured during August Camp when contact starts back up. Come to camp prepared!
13 hours after winning the regular season championship this team is in the WR recovering and preparing for post season play. We we say “They earned that” we don’t mean just by what they do on the court. @MBball_cghsnc

When we as coaches tell them to have fun we need to mean it. And make it possible.
PS all needs analysis should be taking into account an athletes outside factors including midterms which they just finished & other outside stressors such as tragic events involving their peers.
Today as I was conditioning two of my Meredith College teams we had a sudden change of plans.
It was intended to be a dreaded 45min of amphitheater sprints, jumps, & medleys. Though we started out as planned- as I was watching I couldn’t help but be reminded of the news I got
Purpose. They got better. It may not have been the most complicated & technical skill session but I am 100% confident each an every one of them walked away feeling better, & more prepared to perform better.
Yes we literally scattered gear and made a game out of it.
