In 2019, a fourth-grade boy in Florida wanted to represent the University of Tennessee during his school’s College Colors Day. He did not own an official shirt, so he drew his own “U.T.” design on paper and attached it to an orange T-shirt.

Sadly, some students made fun of his homemade shirt during lunch. He returned to his classroom crying. His teacher, Laura Snyder, shared the story online and asked whether anyone connected with the university could help make the day special for him.

The post quickly spread. University of Tennessee supporters sent shirts, hats, and other gifts to the boy and his classmates. The university then turned his hand-drawn design into an official T-shirt. More than 110,000 shirts were eventually sold, with the proceeds benefiting the anti-bullying organization STOMP Out Bullying.

UT also offered the boy honorary admission to its Class of 2032 and a four-year scholarship covering tuition and fees, provided he chooses to attend and meets the university’s admission requirements.

A moment of bullying was transformed into kindness, support, and an opportunity for the future.

Even on the hardest days, when the fog of dementia seemed to take over completely, there were beautiful, quiet moments of connection between Peter Falk and his wife, Shera Danese. When Peter was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, she made a quiet promise to protect his dignity and keep him safe in the Beverly Hills home they had shared for decades.

Their love story began all the way back in 1976 on the movie set of Mikey and Nicky. They married the following year, starting a vibrant, thirty-four-year marriage filled with deep devotion and plenty of shared laughter.

Shera was right there beside him for some of his biggest professional moments, even guest-starring alongside Peter in six different episodes of Columbo.

They were true partners in every sense of the word, navigating the highs and lows of Hollywood life as a team.

As the illness advanced and Peter began to lose his grip on the memories of his legendary career, Shera completely dedicated herself to his care.

She looked for familiar anchors to bring him comfort, particularly his lifelong passion for charcoal sketching. Even when words became difficult for him to find, Shera would set up his easel, place a pencil in his hand, and sit quietly by his side while he drew.

She protected his privacy fiercely, wanting the public to remember the sharp, brilliant actor they loved, while she tenderly cared for the vulnerable man he had become.

"I realized that I couldn’t force him to live in my world anymore," Shera said when describing their daily life together during those years. "I had to learn how to step into his, and meet him exactly where he was."

One afternoon, the couple was sitting together on their sunny outdoor patio. It was a particularly confusing day for Peter, and he was looking around the space with a sense of quiet anxiety, unable to recognize his surroundings. Shera reached over and gently wrapped her fingers around his hand to ground him.

"Are you doing okay, Peter?" she asked softly.

Peter stared at her face for a long, silent moment. Gradually, the tension left his face, and a familiar warmth returned to his eyes.

"I don't know where we are," Peter whispered, holding her hand a little tighter. "But I know I am safe with you."

"You are always safe with me, Peter," Shera replied, smiling at him. "I am right here."

That simple moment captured the beautiful truth of their bond. Alzheimer’s could steal Peter's memories of his famous rumpled raincoat and his Hollywood triumphs, but it could not erase the deep emotional imprint of the woman who had loved him for decades.

When Peter passed away peacefully in June 2011 at the age of 83, he was surrounded by the comfort of that unwavering devotion.

When the mind forgets, the heart still remembers.

Senator Ted Cruz says Amy Klobuchar should retire before the storm hits from “what she knows is coming.” Klobuchar is facing federal charges for conspiracy in the massive Minnesota Medicaid fraud scandal that has now reached all the way to the U.S. Senate.

She’s currently running for both Senate and Governor at the same time while this is unfolding. Cruz says the only respectable thing to do is drop out of both races.

Someone facing charges that severe shouldn’t be running for any office. The investigation started by citizen journalist Nick Shirley has exploded, and now sitting senators are getting dragged into it.

Klobuchar thought she could ride this out quietly. She was wrong. The storm is coming, and Ted Cruz is telling her to get out while she still can.

She’s got much bigger problems than re-election right now.
