@KenDBerryMD Oh and while I'm here, the words "stupid" and "dumb" are kinda ableist; by no means the worst but maybe not what you want to hear constantly from a doctor. Again, just saying.
There's someone on Instagram I follow called Cerebral Pauly. After a while I realised he doesn't have CP. I don't even find his pictures interesting I just hope that whenever he posts he knows I'm watching.
One other unexpected effect of COVID which I wonder could be pertinent to other disabled folk is getting almost caught short on the way home.
The amount of locked doors put me off popping to the loo before leaving somewhere, only to find my ride home rather uncomfortable!
Day 4 of #AccessibleAdvent
I want to see businesses that move in to a property and make it inaccessible (eg raising the front so steps are required) publicly shamed. This is not justifiable in 2020.
#AccessibleAdvent Day 3
Hey, how about banishing RADAR keys and leaving accessible toilets... wait for it... unlocked? I know not every disabled person has the privilege of being able to go for a slash by themselves but as one who does I'd like to keep it.
My new 'Five Things Normal Gym Goers Don't Get' video just got another swarm of dislikes.
Seriously, why is a crip talking about fitness so antagonistic?
No joke, a shop I visit a lot have a habit of shutting and locking the second door WHILE I'M IN THE SHOP.
Like, uhh look, you're only making things harder for yourself!
#AccessibleAdvent Day 2
If a shop/building has a set of double-doors why not leave the second unlocked like the first?
I can't see why this is such a hardship (compared to stopping what you're doing and unlocking it whenever there's a poor crip outside) but it seems to be!
