Huge congrats to our research fellow, Andriy Revenko, for his recent corresponding author publication in ECS. Andriy, from Ukraine, joined our group under the @Researchirel displaced researcher's scheme and contributes to a number of our active projects! https://t.co/cS2mDdWE0S
Congratulations Dr. Shekemi Denuga! Shekemi has worked so hard in the past 4 years developing our ICR sensing technology and applying it to the detection of pathogens!
Delighted to see @EmerFarell, Gareth Redmond @ucdchemistry and I's spectroelectrochemical ion current rectification paper out in print! We demonstrate how non aqueous ICR can be used to monitor a photochemical conversion reaction inside a nanopipette: https://t.co/nVermgjmUy
Huge Well Done & Congratulations to Pallavi Dutta who passed her PhD Viva Voce this afternoon! Thanks to the exam committee @NadiaElgho, Gareth Redmond, and extern examiner Paola Actis from Univ of Leeds. Pallavi's supervisor @echemucd also joined the photo!
Today it's Pallavi Dutta's turn to don the thesis submission hat! Pallavi has made an awesome contribution to our understanding of nanopipette ion transport, and how to utilise ion rectifying pipettes for sensing DNA and pesticides at super-low analyte concentrations.
A fully funded PhD position in the field of electrocatalysis is now available in our group at UCD. The project focuses on the catalytic electrochemical CO2 reduction (CO2R) as a future renewable energy technology. Please email your CV and Cover letter to [email protected].
@naomi_desouza@CliffPPhoto@birmingham_live Would be interesting to hear their response! There are nearly 30 flights between the 7-9am peak this AM, at 180/plane that's more than 5000 passengers, it will take 2h+ to get them all through security with 12 scanners in use. Might be one for @BBCMoreOrLess to look at also!
@naomi_desouza@CliffPPhoto@birmingham_live Insufficient body scanners for no. of departing flights/passengers. I counted 12 scanners total last time through.. At 20s per scan the max throughput is 36 pax/min or 2160 pax/hour, which is not enough for the morning peak period. Will they be installing more!?
@wesandpete@bhx_official Insufficient body scanners for no. of flights. I fly weekly and counted 12 scanners. At 20s per scan the max throughput is 36ppl/min or 2160ppl/hour. If the average plane holds 180ppl, it will take nearly 2h to clear all the ppl for 20 flights during the morning peak period.
Check out our latest work, led by @Dshekemi , and in collaboration with @DamionCorrigan , @CfsUcd, @guerrinomacori where we show that ICR in nanopipettes can be used to detect viral fragments from SARS-CoV-2.
