Every day some era is ending and some era is starting. Though the era of Twitter ended many days ago, I was waiting for some good, positive, opportunity to hang this as my last post here (unless Twitter era dawns again).
Everything is possible, even San Marino winning points.
@PeterM96225 @radeksikorski The Nobel prize is a good idea. He cured the entire world of Russophobia. Thanks to him, no fear of Russia is unjustified or irrational, they all can be chalked up to common sense.
@mmacquee1@radeksikorski Forgiveness is a step that follows apology.
Akcja Wisła was a part of Stalin's great social engineering project Poles were opposed to.
Wołyń massacre was Ukrainian, from the concept to realization.
Equating the two is literally offensive and deteriorates PL-UA relations.
@SarahJaneLeach3 We indeed are all on a continuum of being human, but it doesn't negate practice of using labels and existence of subsets, quite the opposite.
Label of "autistic" actually has way more empirical justification than label of "sociologist" and I do not deny existence of latter.
I said it somewhere in 2022, but it's the best summary I have for this: Everybody has right to be dumb, but nobody is actually obliged to use that right.
I guess the limit to my patience is Ukrainian diplomat equating genocide of Wolhynian Poles, devised engineered and committed by Ukrainians alone with Poles being part of great homogenization process Stalin enforced on entire region in late 1940s, against our resistance.
Shame!
In simplest words:
Is it really that hard to get, saying "there can be excuse for genocide" while you are being a victim of one is really, really dumb? What will happen when the public opinion simply agrees about that one too?
What I really despise about western socialists who argue that NATO and western imperialism are the culprits in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine tend to ignore that Ukraine’s foundation as a democracy was strongly influenced by Ukrainian socialists.
They ignore the fact that many socialists are in the Ukrainian military fighting to defend their sovereignty. There can be no socialist movement here if the socialists are dead!
The Russian military destroyed the museum of one of Ukraine’s great revolutionaries and you get yawns from these western socialist because they have their heads stuck too far up Russia’s ass to realise that western imperialism isn’t the only imperialism that exists.
Happy Molotov-Ribbentrop Day to all who celebrate great power agreements over the heads of other nations, designated spheres of influence, partitions and destruction of states. But hey, it did help to prevent a world war, so must have been worth it, right?
@andersostlund Todays paper in Finland. This might actually be a fact:
- What is Germany really thinking when it halves aid to Ukraine next year"
-"Maybe they are systematic and try to end up on the morally wrong side of ALL wars
But some lines were definitely crossed, when the success of Ukrainian operations became dependent on blindsiding its Western allies. The lines of utter shame and unreliability.
For the West's reputation to recover, it will take either complete 180 of policies, or generations.
⚡️Kyiv didn't disclose preparations for Kursk operation because of West's fear of Russian 'red lines,' Zelensky says.
"That is why, actually, no one knew about our preparations," President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Aug. 19. https://t.co/SbIA3EBSdp
NEW: I interviewed a Ukrainian mom who survived the Russian siege of Mariupol back in 2022.
Anna Zaitseva was nursing her three-month-old baby for more than two months in the Azovstal Steel Plant for more than two months as Russians bombed it and took over her hometown of Mariupol.
Anna ran out of breast milk at one point and even contemplated suicide for herself and her child. She lives with the trauma of the ordeal to this day.

@galaxibrain444 I am not a woman, but I feel the same. It's like I stopped growing up at 12-13. 14 at best.
It's like Bella asking Edward "how long have you been seventeen". I have been 13 for exactly 30 years now :P
And it's not about being immature, it's more about being a frightened kid.

In the midst of 🇷🇺 Russian invasion of 🇬🇪 Georgia, in gesture of defiance to 🇷🇺 tank columns heading for Tbilisi, Presidents of 🇵🇱 🇱🇹 🇱🇻 🇪🇪 🇺🇦 flew to 🇬🇪 capital to support its people. There, in Tbilisi, Lech Kaczyński said ⤵️
"Today it's 🇬🇪, tomorrow it'll be 🇺🇦".
look, there’s no point of denying it: America is, too, an empire. so on any given day lots of folks there would rather amplify, glorify and platform a fellow imperialist russian over literally any other indigenous voice that resists russian colonization
Well, it's good US traded Russian spies for freedom of Russian political prisoners. But it would be even better if US traded Russian spies for something of value...
In lieu of being what they should have been from the very beginning, sanctions should be escalated, not eased.
Vladimir Kara-Murza: "...sanctions against the entire country are unfair and counterproductive"
Andrei Pivovarov: "I ask Western countries to extend a hand to Russians: if sanctions are eased..."
Ilya Yashin: "As part of a peaceful settlement, one of the main issues should be freedom for Russians imprisoned for nothing."
