@pmernyei_@tracewoodgrains "Questionable products created by copying the digital commons and selling it back piecemeal, while also being jammed into existing products without giving users the ability to avoid them" seems to cover both sets to me.
@LeahLibresco Ideally, yeah!
On the other hand, an adaptation of the Odyssey having an unsatisfying ending that everyone fights over is probably the one most accurate thing in the movie, lol.
@Will_J_C@mattyglesias@brianbeutler It doesn't even really matter if you don't agree with that summary, to be clear, but "Stop trying to win primary elections because it means the party is divided against Trump" hasn't worked yet, so I think it's reasonable to explore other options.
@Will_J_C@mattyglesias@brianbeutler Like, the progressive case is basically "The last time the current establishment was in charge they dragged their feet and let Trump off the hook. So, it's time to clean house and get some people who actually want to exercise power in their seats."
@MattZeitlin@jake_jmc20985@brianbeutler@mattyglesias Wasn't he very vocal about welfare making people lazy? Seems like a public option would have been a much heavier lift than industrial stimulus and reducing regulation?
@Will_J_C@mattyglesias@brianbeutler If your answer to how to get everyone pushing in the same direction is "Fuck 'em," you've got plenty of company, but I think it's a good idea to try and get consensus among Dems so we can focus on beating Trump. This sounds like a good focus to me, but I'm open to other ideas.
@mattyglesias@brianbeutler Like you keep saying about Israel, it's not going to fix everything, but the only thing the moderate wing can control is their actions. Showing that they actually want to be on the same team is a good strategy, especially when it's good politics to agree.
@mattyglesias@brianbeutler If a significant part of factionalism is the belief that the moderate wing hates the progressive wing, then the moderate wing endorsing a major progressive idea would chill that out, no?
@tracewoodgrains@sevensix43 The white of the neck and chest is a beard with the reddish fur is the face. The ear blends in with the hat, so you have a Santa-ish bearded fellow in a lopsided hat.
The muzzle doesn't really work, but if you're just glancing at it, I can see it.
@CathyYoung63@dilanesper@AnodyneTweets@MonicaBaumann Did he steal the labor of hundreds of people in order to live a "life of the mind" since his material needs were not ever a concern? Did he have the option to... not do that?
Yes?
Then it's pretty reasonable to say that he was at least fine with it.
