Why We Can’t Feel the Earth Spinning.
We’re hurtling through space at over 100,000 km/h as Earth spins on its axis and orbits the Sun — yet we feel nothing.
Why?
Because of inertia and reference frames.
Everything on Earth (including the atmosphere, oceans, and you) is moving at the same speed. Since there’s no relative motion between you and your surroundings, your body can’t detect the movement.
It’s the same reason you don’t feel the speed when flying in an airplane at 900 km/h — as long as it’s smooth and constant.
