Every time I open X, I see a new screenshot that reinforces why I will not be watching the Odyssey.
Here we have Mycenaean Greeks in a Viking longship.
For reference, the collapse of the Mediterranean Bronze Age was approximately 1200 BC.
The Viking age emerged 793-1066 AD.
‘THE ODYSSEY’ had one sequence filmed in such stormy conditions on a 115ft wooden longship in the sea that many actors started vomiting.
Nolan then said — “would you mind if we get the vomiting on camera?”

On Sunday we post churches:
Abuna Yemata Guh (also spelled Abune Yemata Guh or Abba Yem’ata Guh) is a remarkable ancient rock-hewn monolithic church in the Gheralta Mountains of Ethiopia’s Tigray Region.
Dedicated to Abuna Yemata: One of the Nine Saints, who played a key role in spreading Christianity in Ethiopia around the late 5th to early 6th century.
These saints, traditionally from regions like Syria, Rome, and Constantinople, helped establish monastic traditions after Ethiopia adopted Christianity as a state religion in the 4th century.
Carved directly into a sandstone cliff in the 6th century. Reasons speculated include seeking solitude for prayer/meditation or escaping persecution of early Christians.
It’s considered one of the most inaccessible churches on Earth.
@FortressLugh Their response to this was “well they would be speaking Greek anyway”. Suggesting it doesn’t matter what words they use in English or how casual they sound.
