Did some work on an anti-racism special for @CBCKids with Dr. @ShawneeHardware & @echolibrary.
Check it out and please share widely with all your littles!

Working with the @OISECIARS community at OISE has been a highlight of my graduate journey.
Thanks so much Ezi Odozor (@echolibrary) for nominating Black women for this award.
"Black women's ability to function with dignity, independence, and imagination in the face of total adversity — points to an innate feminist potential...Black women as a group have never been fools. We couldn't afford to be."- Barbara Smith
Incredibly honoured to receive the Impact Award and the FHS Student Publication Award😭 A big thank you to @machealthsci @McMasterHSGSF and mentors @lmbuagbaw, am truly standing on the shoulders of giants. Grateful to learn from and be part of such a supportive team @HEI_mcmaster
The Collective’s @Janelle_Brady_ and Ezi Odozor gave a powerful keynote this morning at the Anti-Racism Conference. Incredible message on how to be antiracist for our Gr.7 and 8 students.
I'm deeply dissapointed by the Canadian Gov's ongoing response to human rights violations, both in Canada and abroad. Especially knowing that we actively fuel these violations by selling weapons to known perpetrators of violence. #FreePalestine#sanctionsnow#stopsellingweapons
Happy to be sharing space with brilliant and engaged students from @TCDSB. @Janelle_Brady_ and I are grateful for the opportunity to be in conversation about how we can all be anti-racist together. ❤️
We are both so grateful to be in conversation with TCDSB students, and learned so much from each of them who shared their important anti-racism work ❤️
Looking forward to connecting with the grade 9s&10s tomorrow!

*Personal update!*
Very excited to share that I will join @RyersonU's School of Early Childhood Studies in @RyersonFCS as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Black Studies on July 1st.
Excited to continue community-based research, collaborate w/faculty & meet the students!!
Doug Ford has utterly failed to protect Ontarians from COVID-19, prioritizing a police state over public health.
Now he wants to cut and run.
I won’t run. We can still put public health first, undo Mr. Ford’s police state, and give people the help they need.

1. There is no excuse for asking for free Black labour!
2. Prefacing your ask for free Black labour by acknowledging that a Black person may have a lot on their plate is also unacceptable!
3. Things to do: Hire Black folks! Pay Black folks!
