86 organisations have written to the Prime Minister calling on him to increase climate finance and to fairly tax the wealthiest and largest polluters in our society to pay for climate action at home and overseas.

🚨 Windermere’s Worst Year Yet for Illegal Sewage Discharges 🚨
Our latest report—produced with Prof. Peter Hammond of @WindrushWasp —has revealed 140 days with illegal sewage spilling from the six sites around Windermere in 2024 alone.
This is the highest number ever recorded in any of our reports.
United Utilities had multiple chances to disprove the findings to the BBC. They failed.
The Environment Agency has the data to hold them accountable. They haven’t.
Unsurprisingly, United Utilities was not forthcoming. We had to get the Information Commissioner involved—just to get the data. And what it shows is early illegal spilling: sewage dumped before the treatment works have hit their legally specified flow rate threshold.
This is the most prevalent form of illegal discharge in Windermere—and it’s being ignored.
Save Windermere is now calling for:
-The prosecution of United Utilities for repeated illegal discharges.
-The removal of the Environment Agency’s board for regulatory failure.
-An internal investigation into how illegal sewage discharges were missed.
-An end to all sewage pollution
into Windermere through long-term infrastructure investment.

Dear Prime Minister. Swift bricks will never even potentially block development. They’re just a brick, installed by Brickies along with millions of other bricks. Email [email protected] to receive a template to tell your MP this. There’s a comms failure & we can solve it

Today I was granted an urgent question to ask @FCDOGovUK about the humanitarian crisis in Northern Gaza.
To ask if the government is really doing everything they can to achieve a ceasefire. And whether they were doing all they could to save Palestinians form needless suffering.

New bird population figures show unbearable decline, especially among farm & woodland species.
So much is riding on the new Environmental Improvement Plan. It must make nature-friendly farming profitable, make polluters pay dearly & reform planning to guarantee space for nature.
By piling leaves up in a corner of your little green space, you'll create a place for hedgehogs and insects to hide and hibernate. More tips to help garden wildlife this autumn: https://t.co/A4eHFvq54z 🍂

Government has sent a strong signal of intent to tackle water pollution.
Today, in the #MarchForCleanWater, 10000s send a strong signal back.
We won't be satisfied until corporate profiteering from pollution, agricultural runoff & toxic chemical contamination are over for good.
Had a good meeting with @SteveReedMP earlier today . We discussed clean water and I gave him a plan to end the badger cull drafted after consultation with scientists and researchers . . . which makes sense on all levels , including economic #stopthecull
