I find it very ironic how this discourse shifts the blame for the lack of logic onto a broader system of violence, as if queer people haven't also historically been extremely lesbophobic.
Even if straight men did nothing, you would still be wrong by definition for wanting erase.
at what point are we gonna stop blaming other queer people for violence done by men and patriarchy? critique your peers all you want, but label discourse does not cause men to be predatory.
@2010myspace nobody It's blamed for a thing like this and yet the thing that most have in political lesbianism it was woman who are attracted to men and the less lesbians
@GingerDotDev@circvsanimal It’s so funny to me that this conversation is centered on TERFs, because the people most opposed to that ridiculous statement about how lesbians can enjoy having sex with men are trans women. Try again.
@iinamourada Queer women experience this for different reasons—lesbians due to lesbophobia and bisexual women due to biphobia—so it is not difficult to understand that the situation in between is objectively different...
@iinamourada Sorry, but do you know what lesbophobia is? You're aware that it's not just about people shouting that lesbians don't exist, right? You know it also includes bisexual women who have a "dyke-breaking" fetish, right?
@cardinal_craft I’m sorry if this triggered you; I wasn’t trying to come across as aggressive or anything like that. I deeply condemn biphobia, but I’m not going to pretend that lesbophobia isn’t present in all sectors of society—including among women in our own community.
@cardinal_craft orientation yet I didn't go around generalizing about bisexual people.
By the same token, you shouldn't generalize your specific case of harassment to other people; you DON'T KNOW them.
@cardinal_craft I’m trying to say this as gently as possible, but this is entirely your own problem—one you shouldn't project onto others. I was abused by a girl who was *actually* bisexual, and I know there are *many* people out there who fantasize about stripping me of my sexual
@cardinal_craft For obvious reasons, that’s disgusting and horrible, and obviously I’m not talking about that. The tweets you showed were talking about her specific case, not bi people in general... forgive me if I missed others like that, but those ones were talking about predators.
might i add, sapphictwt’s hypercritical attitude towards any sapphic media that isn’t sunshine and rainbows def contributes to why a lot of our sapphic media underperforms #noshade
