@monaeshsk@jforjacob Everything in business has a cost. If you stay on SP, you save on fees but you might lose all your MRR Tokens. With COC, you pay more and have lower approval rates but you are safe and own all your MRR tokens. Pick the cost that saves you most long term. We all know it's not SP
When customers checkout now with apple pay on shopify payments, if it’s a subscription product their phone vibrates with an error and takes them to this page to confirm they know…. What type of sorcery is this and why isn’t anyone talking about it?
@ecomrudolfs@dougpayments@seamlesspro93 I’ve tried it now on a 3rd store, no error. So they’re gradually rolling it out - i guess that’s why it’s not talked about maybe. But 2 or my stores have it
This is so so bad. Like SUPER bad. What’s meant to be a one step quick checkout is now 2 steps with a phone vibrating to alert tf out of you 😭 ain’t nobody checking out after that. What is wrong with Shopify Payments! Like i get there’s legal implications but leave it up to the merchants for ffs!
@ecomrudolfs Bro i’m shocked. Preparing mids rn lol. I was planning to scale but then found out this shit. Why is nobody talking about this?!? Do people not know? Is it not rolled out to all SP stores yet?
@DTCMidas Is there a timeline in 'Ships in: X Days' where it becomes too much to do a pre order? Like Ships in 2 weeks is different than ships in 2 months if you know what i mean
I'm sorry but if you don't see your posts as fear mongering, check again. Even though the laws ARE true and black and white - business in practice is not. Are you the FTC or are you serving businesses? Your posts should reflect business the way it really is (grey. not only bad scary numbers). If your audience is mainly small to mid size owners, show the good and the bad. Speak percentages. You show the $50.8M losses, the $4.8M losses etc. But why don't you show the coupons settlements or the smaller losses? If you don't see this as biased fear mongering so that people book a call with you, I don't know what else to say. Nevertheless, never said your info is wrong or bad. It's just not the norm of a small to mid business owner. Statistics speak louder than your posts
what i mean is that the amount of stores running a fake discount is massively larger than the amount of stores not running them - and you know that. And I am sure that all the lawsuit cases that you talk about on your feed are maybe 3% of all the brands out there (speaking of the smaller ones not Nikes). I do understand you are a lawyer that consults brands on best practices - but I am sure your clientele is the smaller to mid size brands, not the Nike and Lululemon. So your content and tactic seems more like fear mongering and you never mention that things are not black and white in business and the risk % of doing or not something. Posting advice rather than Lululemon or Nike cases would surely help not only you but your potential clients who look up to you. Just food for thought!
@RobertFreundLaw@mediaguyNJ mainly in the form of coupons no? so the loss isnt huge. why the fear mongering and not full accuracy of what possibly happens? Everyone has a fake discount, I can't seem to find 1 brand that doesnt.
@RobertFreundLaw if you can't add it above checkout can you add the statement above the add to cart button (before reaching checkout)? is that reinforceable?
@nkecom@gingershusband But how come many weeks the cost cap spends at higher CPA than your target and doesn’t even out through the week? Lets say cost cap is $38 it spends up to $70 sometimes then in the next days does not spend at all to compensate
@EcomSapo@TheMartinMezei it's not the feds or FTC people gotta be scared off. It's 1 bad customer experience like death or whatever --> Lawsuit --> Check your ads --> All fake --> Huge loss
