MicroStrategy’s $MSTR strategy feels “too good to be true” because it exploits a unique convergence of factors:

1) Access to low-cost capital markets (0% interest rates for convertible bonds)

2) Bitcoin’s asymmetric upside over time

3) The public market’s willingness to assign a premium valuation to Bitcoin treasuries

However, this strategy works only as long as Bitcoin continues to appreciate over the long term, outpacing debt obligations and $MSTR can manage its financial obligations without being forced into fire sales of Bitcoin.

The real genius of the strategy is that it effectively uses the inefficiencies of capital markets (cheap debt, premium stock valuations) to acquire a hard asset that operates outside traditional finance

Folks need to understand that MicroStrategy $MSTR plan is actually benefitting #Bitcoin and the miners ecosystem. It’s simple 👇

1) $MSTR takes Bitcoin supply out from the market, BTC price goes up

2) Investors FOMO into $MSTR, share price goes up

3) $MSTR share price goes up, Saylor issues more equity / convertible debt. Capital markets gives them cheap capital in return for the volatility premium of $MSTR

4) By doing #3, $MSTR buys more Bitcoin

5) Buying more Bitcoin, BTC goes 📈

6) 1-5 becomes a cycle and as BTC goes up, Bitcoin miner profits go WAY up

7) No Bitcoin miners, No new Bitcoin supply for $MSTR or ANYONE else to buy

Could the strategy fail? Sure, but only under extraordinary circumstances, such as the complete failure of Bitcoin itself which would require either a fatal flaw in Bitcoin’s code, a breakdown of its decentralized consensus, or an irreversible global abandonment of its utility. Those risks are not zero, but they are exponentially diminishing as Bitcoin adoption grows and the network solidifies its role as the apex monetary asset
