@iamnapenjoyoor Think it's a combination of immigration halts and reduced subsidies squeezing childcare centres from both sides. There's some regulation as well (min number of workers per children), which make it expensive.
I think Australia suffers from a lack of structural innovation -- we simply don't have many Startup founders represented in the top tier of politics. Unlike the US, where tech is politically very strong, here we're dominated by "old school" billionaires -- miners + Murdoch.
Politicians won't change the system because they think the only things worth supporting are already big.
