I wrote a book, and it’s out today! #InvisibleLearning is about @danmlevy’s legendary Statistics course at @Harvard. Until now, only a select few have been in the room: now anyone in the world can be part of the magic.👇(1/7)

@HaggardHawks Is that linked to the more common -ER agent nouns like WORKER, or totally separate? One could imagine a common etymology in which e.g. a “flicker” is either someone or something which flicks frequently.

@danielgallan They do it every time and end up getting walloped anyway - the strategy of “pick your best team” would have served them so much better down the years.
@Nigelrefowens Agreed - most exciting part of the game is when the attacking team is within 5m of the try line. Made no sense to reduce those passages of play
@izzywestbury Agreed - Bazball as an aggressive approach to batting in Test cricket is brilliant (and arguably optimal).
Bazball as a “do everything on vibes” - wacky selections and early declarations - comes unstuck sometimes. But I’d rather have both than neither.
@norcrosscricket England’s stunning 11-0 win on this metric is of course a record - beating the West Indies’ 10-2 victory over Australia in their 37-run defeat in Bridgetown in 1991. A record many thought would never be broken.
@huwzat The only thing in Bairstow’s defence is that Ahsan Raza has stopped looking at the game and is getting Green’s cap - if he thought the ball was still live then why wasn’t he watching it?
@LiebCricket Also disappointed that they’ve carried on batting rather than declaring in the 380s. Huge chance missed to intimidate the English into submission
@SamMorshead_ Incredible game. They could have kept smacking it around in first innings until all out, declared in second innings instead, and set them a higher target in the same amount of time?
@ahawksbee@CityAM Whenever I raised (tentatively) the idea of becoming an MP, I always felt squeamish about the inevitable “who for?”. I suspect there are lots out there who would love to serve but find it hard to identify with a party consistently enough.
@norcrosscricket These early declarations are plain silly - especially with a real chance of Root and Robinson putting on another 50-100. (Love everything else about him as a captain, and think he’ll go down as one of the greatest of all time.)
