In between an ecstatic dance and 5 Rhythms class tonight. Just finished ED and it was a lot ๐๐ I went through it... I do like these two different dance contrasts in a night. Tonight in 5R we are covering the flowing rhythm, (which is my favorite.)
"Maybe there is no movement in a shoulder or in your pelvis; no movement means no breath. Focus on this part of you, breathe into it, and let go of whatever it is holding. Every part of us needs breath to catalyze its function."
-Gabrielle Roth from the book, Sweat Your Prayers
Excited to get back to practicing the #5rhythms with one of my favorite instructors this Sunday @danceheeraanow ๐ She creates such a great container to explore our relationship with ourselves and the world around us through movement.
โ#Dance is simply the refinement of human movement - #walking, #running, and #jumping. We are all experts. There should be no art form more accessible than dance, yet no art is more mystifying in the public imagination.โ

In the early 20th century, dance marathons were not only popular, they were an entire industryโand a surprisingly hazardous one. @JSTOR_Daily

Notice when you're dancing if your #breath stops at your neck. IF it does, explore belly breathing and allowing that breath to move throughout your entire body. Then practice aligning your dance with that full breath and let it guide you.

@c_atherine Totally! I think the whole island is just a total trip. I stayed at Inanitah. I did some tantric courses, an ayahuasca journey, and worked as a volunteer coordinator. I'm ready to go back tbh ๐
