Their lived experiences as students from low-income & immigrant households offered fresh perspectives to policy. As prospective #FirstGen college students, they networked with policy professionals and learned how to explore career opportunities in the political & advocacy field🙌🏽

Additionally, our students watched a live voting session for the California Legislature. Here, @AsmEGarcia recognized @ecv4change , @cofem & our entire group’s efforts to contribute to positive change and uplift our communities back home in the #CoachellaValley🌱

Our students participated in the #CA policymaking process & imagined themselves in positions of influence. Equipped with advocacy training, they met with legislative offices & the @CAgovernor to share testimonies in support of 4 bills championing greater access to #HigherEd 💪🏽

On June 24th, @ecv4change and @cofem partnered to bring a group of 10 high school students from the #CoachellaValley to the State Capitol in #Sacramento! 🤩 #ECVtotheCapitol

At this all-expenses-paid trip, our high school students will tour the State Capitol, meet with California state representatives, and advocate for bills that champion education for all! 💪🏽 🌱
