My prediction for dashboards in 2024 is that backends will get „dumber“ and instead of being queried n times in parallel will just ship the entire dataset to the frontend, e.g. as Arrow stream to @duckdb WASM. Then query the data in milliseconds…

Though it's mostly been touted for adhoc analysis, imo one of the killer use cases of @duckdb is low-latency analytical queries to power dashboards and live applications.

Embed it into a nodejs server and serve analytics through an API - Pinot/Druid lite.

@AutomediU @Wanderingpicker @MayorLpool Another sad aspect: due to delays in bin collection (or broken trucks), it has happened quite frequently that the collection of recycling and general waste is taken by the same truck. AFAIK these trucks do not have separate sections for recycling and general waste

@AutomediU @Wanderingpicker @MayorLpool As there are few trucks in the borough a delayed fix in the broken one causes more load on the few trucks left. Which in turn can brake. This happened last year.
I don't have data, it's based on answers from the council or the company responsible for the job.
