@CharlotteAshley God damn, but I hope you feel better soon. I got lucky (I think) with my Covid run-in in January, ut sciatica was the worst pain I've ever felt. Here's to your supporters.
In my other life, I am also a publisher, and I wouldn't have bought this if I didn't believe #Cascade is a fantastic novel. The #Kickstarter is funded, but you can still buy the book and score some great extras at the same time.
@mijopo As far as I know the city can/could have requested OPP assistance, and possibly RCMP, on its own.
And there is also this ...

@mijopo For the record, I live about three blocks away from the perimeter of the occupation and want them gone, and I am quite a bit to the left of the NDP, but I still oppose the imposition of the Act.
@mijopo I think use of the Act does 2 things:
1) It allows for outside forces to deal with a situation the #OttawaPolice either can't or won't act; and
2) it may help normalize use of Act in future - especially against unions, indigenous, environmentalist activists.
I, like all other right-thinking, red-blooded, westerners, am terrified of Russian aggression! Look how close it is to our (strictly defensive) military bases!
