A part of me tells me that if Prof. Yemi Osibanjo was the presidential candidate of the APC and Orji Uzor Kalu the candidate of the NDC, 90% of the Igbos would support Osibanjo. It’s about how people feel about the candidates and not their regions.
I am Igbo and will rather vote for Osinbajo than waste my vote on OUK. I have overcome tribal reasoning. After all I didn’t choose which region to be born in. Nigeria as a whole couldn’t be a preferred country for anyone considering how it has turned out.
First thing tomorrow morning, we will file a lawsuit at the federal high court in Lagos to challenge this constitutional breach. Except we all agree the law no longer rules in Nigeria.
I've been putting data together. I know Nigerians are now insensitive to death, but I tell you this: even as underreported as it is, Nigeria has only witnessed 1 day with zero violent killings in 850 days.
Ogun gets a port. Ibom gets a promise.
The untold story of the Ibaka Deep Sea Port ... its natural advantage, years of preparation, and why it is still waiting. A story Nigeria needs to know.
Tinubu’s style of government is not national. It is personal, regional and caucus-based.
And these are my tears. 😭
Look at the pattern.
The biggest contracts do not always go through open competition. They seem to go through friends, family and the same small circle.
Now look at the Ogun Deep Seaport.
Ogun State just signed MoUs in Paris with DP World for the Gateway Deep Sea Port and the Blue Marine Special Economic Zone.
So, who helped open that door?
Gilbert Chagoury. Owner of the Chagoury Group. Long-time Tinubu associate.
Reports say Chagoury was involved in arranging the February 2025 meeting between Tinubu, the Marine Minister and DP World’s then-CEO, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem.
⚠️ Chagoury Group did not sign the MoU. DP World did.
Chagoury was the man in the middle.
That is the point.
Interestingly, before “son” Dapo Abiodun eventually secured DP World as the investor for Ogun, “Daddy” had already been sitting down with DP World. 🥸
So, in February 2025, Tinubu met DP World’s then-boss, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, in Abuja, with Chagoury and Marine Minister also present.
Then, about a year and a half later, Ogun State is signing a $7 billion-plus MoU with that same DP World, with Tinubu there to witness it. 🤝
So you look at the timeline and ask:
Daddy had already opened the door. Then son walked through it.
How convenient.👌
Ogun did not necessarily need a global search but the “President’s Phonebook” to get investors.
And that is how hard Dapo Abiodun has worked around the region to get daddy’s friend to help him. Bless him🧐
Then you turn around and tell us that states should simply have what it takes to attract investors.
Just typical. 💁🏻
The same friend whose companies have been linked to major projects in Lagos, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project .
The same friend Tinubu recently gave the GCON, Nigeria’s second-highest national honour.
And then look at the history.
The Tinubu-Chagoury relationship goes back to Tinubu’s years as Lagos governor. During that period, the Chagoury Group got a huge coastal land grant that became Eko Atlantic.
Tinubu’s son, Seyi, has also been linked to Chagoury-related business interests, including sitting on the board of a Chagoury company.
In 2000, a Swiss court convicted Gilbert Chagoury of money laundering linked to Abacha-era funds. He paid a fine and returned $66 million. Chagoury has always denied knowing that the money was stolen.
Tinubu has publicly called him a close and reliable friend and has listed him as a confidante on official trips.
Nigeria is beginning to look like it is being run like a private network.
Apparently, Tinubu does not just control the government. He seems to have the networks that bring investors to the table too.
That is what you call a patronage-based system.
Now ask yourself:
Are federal projects not meant for open bidding?
The Public Procurement Act provides for open competitive bidding as the general rule for covered federal procurement, although the law also provides specific exceptions.
Like you guys suggested…. one thing about my tears:
They clear my airways.
And interestingly, I cry with both eyes and my mouth open. 😭
Loud enough to deprive you of comfort.
But please remember: just like a crying baby, you have two choices.
Either you attend to my needs…
Or you get ready to enjoy this discomfort.
Because the neighbours may not be particularly proud of your parenting. 🤨
It Is A Truth At A Time
You hide a technical matter under documents to justify tribal leadership, and when the facts are exposed, you start looking for another argument.
Seaports are on the coastline. So when you say other states should go and develop their own, you are exposing how little you understand the federal structure you are arguing about. Nigeria is a federation. We do not operate a system where every state simply keeps everything generated within its territory and develops entirely on its own.
If you want every state to stand completely on its own, then let us have that conversation properly: resource control, fiscal responsibility, and states keeping the revenues from their resources. Then we will know which states actually have what it takes to attract investment, secure financing and develop their infrastructure.
Because I am exposing your regional leadership, you tell me to “cry.”
Fine. That is my job..🥲I will cry.
But when a child cries, the neighbours peep through their windows. They want to know what is happening. They become concerned. And if the crying continues, they cannot simply pretend they cannot hear it.
So let me cry.😭
I will cry loud enough for the neighbours to hear. I will cry loud enough for people to look through their windows and start asking questions.
And now, you have just gotten started with another version of me.
It means my beater is awake 😤and surely, they won’t sleep.
Because from here on, it will be one truth at a time.
Woke up this morning to see that 54 people have been killed by Terrorist in Plateau state over the weekend.
In 2 days they'd be forgotten.
The reality of the Average Nigerian
APC goes around motor parks telling agbero bosses that a new party will take away their jobs, stoking fear and using that fear to mobilise them to disrupt elections.
How much in cars, houses, health insurance , domestic staff and foreign travels is Tinubu still taking from Lagos and how much is PO taking from Anambra?
I was thinking the USA 🇺🇸 doesn’t negotiate with criminals 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️ But @realDonaldTrump has proven that wrong. 😑
It’s so sad that he can’t go after TINUBU the way he went after Maduro.
The price of his silence? @officialABAT selling off Nigerian natural mineral resources.. SHAME!!
How Umahi violated procurement law with N60bn contracts for loyalist
BusinessDay traced N60.1bn in 27 payments to Reinforced Global Resources from the Works Ministry between 2024 and 2026.
Its MD had campaigned for Umahi months before his appointment.
September 2012. Hear Tinubu list the things that made him upset.
1. High unemployment.
2. Lack of food on the table and kitchen of that poor.
3. Lack of electricity.
4. Turning things to family patrimony. Same Tinubu has given Chauogory 3 mega trillion contracts with his own son on the board of same company.
Talk about family patrimony.
This man is has not solved even one issue he himself raised in 2012. Not even one...
How interesting is that?
Nollywood crime thriller Black Market has broken the Guinness World Record for the largest attendance at a film screening in a single location, with more than 51,000 people watching the movie at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos.
The record-breaking screening took place on Saturday as thousands of movie lovers gathered at the Lagos venue for the highly anticipated premiere.
