@teacher2teacher By prioritizing the relationship before the rigor tells the student you genuinely care about them, not just teaching a subject or their test scores.
@ObsessedTeach Hang in there. You have everything you need to win, the compassion, capacity, and capability. As for parents don't worry to much about them, many do know how to care, they need some lessons themselves.
@SecCardona With all that's going on in the country and the world, the absolute best way to support students as they try strive to recover from the pandemic and figure out a pathway for their future is to eliminate standardized testing, as President Biden made a campaign promise to do.
@SecCardona Sadly, in public schools across the country art, civics, and music classes along with their teachers continue to be cut due to a standardized curriculum and test preparation. I wonder what the current generation of students are aspiring to be.
@RobertWhite_DC You're on the right track. We have to rebuild communities first, then create pathways for youth to be productive members of society. We cannot police, punish, or prosecute our way to a safer DC.
@stu4safelearn Time has come for the end of corporate and capitalistic education planning and policies in DC schools. It's time for the Mayor, Deputy Mayor of Education, Chancellor, and Superintendent to respect and listen to students.
@POTUS Mr. President could you ensure that States and the District of Columbia train their unemployed, unskilled, and under-employed citizens for these once in a generation projects. Thank you.
