@JungleAlex13227 Any remote chance that you could even consider what the existing EFTA want? i doubt theyll want some unreliable guant country “rejoining the EFTA quite quickly”. Or does 🇳🇴 🇨🇭🇱🇮🇮🇸 opinions not matter to your EU obsession ?
Rejoin the EFTA quite quickly “ 😂😂Sounds so desperate
@danielanadj77 Did you have some sort of crystal ball that would be able to foresee exactly how the EU’s borders would be from 10/04/2026??? The 17.million never heard anything about any such implementation from either side.
@BladeoftheS Why not include the full single market players Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein and the other with good access, Switzerland? I’m sure you’ll find that all four are less cheap than the UK for food.
@Tobeech If border will be in Zürich I guess the train will have virtually zero stops to ensure that passengers already having officially left Schengen and officially entered UK will not be allowed to leave the train until London as is currently the case with services from Netherlands.2/2
@Tobeech What about the return journey? Another juxtaposed UK border on Zürich??? Or will passengers need to get off in Paris to go through the Schengen exit and already in place juxtaposed UK border? 1/2
@RD_vs_EW_vs_VI@edwinhayward Why should the UK be humiliated with a no-secession clause which the other 27 members don’t have and the EEA and Switzerland don’t have regarding their EU arrangements?
@JungleAlex13227 Who cares at the levels of support for the UK’s return in other countries? They will not get a referral in whether we join or not. It would be upto the government of the day agreeing to the accession process starting, not a swing voter in Dresden or a hardline racist in Odense.
@nickreeves9876 What a waste of money that would be then having the government remain neutral. Many people would have been unsure in the previous referendums for some of those, the support of the government for the EU would have swayed them into following suit.
@MHartleyJones Typical British attitude - you seem to allude to British choosing what it wants irrespective of how the current EFTA members may not want their boat rocked by some unreliable massively dominant player (population wise) when they are quite happy as they are - EEA + 🇨🇭
@axispoint60@DrPhillipLee Well following your logic well just rush into ERM II then? Heard bout Black Wednesday of 1992 when Lamont and Major never regained the confidence of the UK when the £ crashed out of the ERM.
UK could join but it could take decades for the time to be right for joining ERM II.
@adamboultonTABB UK electorate would never accept the Norway model - being part of the club but no power in decision making, only observer status at particular points.
