A number of proud volunteers from the first cohort of food safety training, certificates now included at Foundations Café.
This is a significant achievement for many in just a few weeks; a pleasure seeing confidence & skills developing as they embrace other opportunities
Really touched receiving a donation today from St John’s Church Women’s Guild. This will be a valuable contribution in Foundations Café providing food at no charge on Boxing Day within Howard Centre. Extremely grateful for the generosity as we support people at a vulnerable time
After a hard week for me I spent a morning with the incredible people who come to our service. They said they feel included, listened to and comfortable when they drop in. They forget who of us are staff because we give them such a sense of belonging #citizenshipinaction#proud😊

@RecoveryEnterp1 We deal in hope Mark, a rare commodity, but unless we follow it up with opportunities like the cafe is offering, then the Hope quickly dissipates.
Took a guy along to cafe. Not only did he get a 3 courser for £2:00. He was shown compassion and kindness. One volunteer gave him his number for future support, another signposted to local projects. Here was an air of altruism. Very touching. #illbeback
Café opening thread
Last night we had our first recovery café; thank you to the range of people managing along, & to the team of 16 volunteers- couldn't have been any prouder with everyone’s efforts. To have achieved this in such a short period of time was something special!
Amazing tonight, working with the young team in Castlemilk on the #YouDecideProgramme
Who would have thought it? Young people who are labeled "Hard to reach" turning up to take part in a violence prevention programme on a Friday night.
Easy to ignore more like.
