Bad Bunny, moments ago at the Grammy’s:
“before I say thanks to god, I'm going to say... ICE OUT"
“We are not savages. We are not animals. We are not aliens. We are Americans.”
“The only thing more powerful than hate is love!”
I’ve always loved the practice of criminal law & always envisioned myself as a criminal lawyer. But today I accepted a position w/ a civil litigation firm & have decided to end my time as an ADA. I’m going to miss the criminal courts, but I’m so excited for this new challenge 🥹
It goes without saying that I am filled w/ pride to know that my ancestors fought & risked their lives to help others & to do what is right. They serve as an example of the people who call the RGV home & I hope to follow the example they set centuries ago.
#HappyJuneteenth
To celebrate #Juneteenth I’d like to share the incredible story of my great-great-great-great-great-grandparents, Nathaniel and Matilda Jackson, who founded an Underground Railroad in 1857 in San Juan, TX located in the Rio Grande Valley.
🧵A Thread🧵
In April 2024, The National Park Service added the Jackson Ranch Church & the Martin Jackson Cemetery in San Juan to the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom. It is only 1 of 2 cites in TX w/ this designation (the other cite is the Mission San Jose in SATX)
Allow me to introduce y’all to the tiniest yet grand addition to our family, my grand-nephew Ever Alejandro. The name Ever is a tribute to my late dad and is derived from his name and the name he gave me, Everardo 🤍
