OK Zimbabwe Suspends Salaries as Corporate Rescue Deepens.
OK Zimbabwe’s Joint Works Council has approved the temporary suspension of payroll and employee compensation effective May 2026, as the retail giant intensifies efforts to stabilise operations under corporate rescue proceedings.
The resolution states that the move is aimed at preserving the business, mitigating the impact of declining revenues, and supporting the company’s turnaround strategy until operations return to profitable levels. The company was officially placed under corporate rescue on 24 February 2026, with Mr. Bulisa Mbano appointed as Corporate Rescue Practitioner.
