Inclusive Climate Action: Kenya’s Road to COP30
Inclusive systems are not a side conversation — they are central to Kenya’s response to climate change.
As we continue on the Road to COP30, we reaffirm our commitment to ensure that climate leadership, innovation, and financing are accessible to all — especially to affirmative action groups: women, youth, persons with disabilities, and the elderly who remain both the most affected and the most capable agents of transformation.
This week, we convened the National Road to COP 30 Dialogue, hosted under the leadership of CS @DeboraBarasa , Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry who graced the occasion as our Chief Guest, together with H.E. Governor Wilber Ottichilo of Vihiga County.
At @NGAAF_KE , we are leading the development of a structured framework for affirmative action engagement in climate action — one that links local implementation with inclusive financing and ensures that affirmative action groups voices shape national outcomes.
Because true sustainability is built when every community becomes a co-author of climate solutions.

Full Circle Moments. Rooted in Legacy, Growing for the Future.
Today, jointly with PS @DrJumaMukhwana Senators @SenWakoli - Bungoma County Senator & Senator Conosolata Wakwabubi we were at home in one of the primary schools that shaped our journeys— not just to reminisce, but to plant trees and nurture a sustainability conversation that bridges generations. 🌍✨
Each tree we collectively planted is more than a symbol of green growth — it’s a commitment to climate action, stewardship, and the shared responsibility to leave our learning spaces and communities better than we found them.
Great moments too in the places that shaped our journeys, and to give back in a way that ensures the next generation inherits not only knowledge, but also a greener, more resilient future. 🌳💚

I have this morning flagged off of the Top Car Digital Campaign Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), including Femicide in partnership with Movimento Africa at Teleposta ,Huduma Centre in Nairobi. This bold and timely initiative is a testament to our Ministry’s continued commitment to harnessing innovation and technology in the fight against gender-based violence and femicide in our society.
The campaign will see the deployment of four branded digital campaign vehicles across Nairobi County bringing awareness and critical services closer to the people . These mobile units will disseminate key messages focused on prevention, protection and response to GBV, reaching communities directly and ensuring that awareness and information are accessible to all. This is a critical step in taking the conversation to the streets and grassroots, bridging the gap between policy and public engagement.
With over 100 femicide cases reported in the last six months—and many more likely unreported the urgency to take decisive and creative action has never been more apparent. Femicide and all forms of GBV are heinous violations of human rights that must be condemned unreservedly. As the Government of Kenya, we remain steadfast in our commitment to eliminate these atrocities and promote gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.
This digital campaign is more than just a communications initiative , it is a call to action. A call to our communities, to our leaders, to our youth and to every citizen to stand up, speak out and be part of the solution.
Members of the Soseko Community-Based Organization (CBO) in Sonokwek Village, Ndaraweta Ward, Bomet Central Sub-county have received a boost in their economic empowerment efforts with the donation of a tent and 100 chairs. The support was handed over through their patron, Hon. Linet Chepkorir, as part of @NGAAF_KE initiatives.
This contribution is designed to enhance the group’s income-generating activities by enabling them to hire out the equipment for events and community gatherings. It reflects a broader effort to build sustainable livelihoods and promote self-reliance among grassroots communities.
Such initiatives underscore a strong commitment to inclusive development and the upliftment of local enterprises across the country.

I was deeply honored to represent @NGAAF_KE at the Post-CSW69 High-Level Dialogue in Beijing, China. This high-impact engagement reaffirmed our shared commitment to gender equality and inclusive development.
The presence of PS, Anne Wang’ombe, Kenya’s Deputy Ambassador to China, @MwendeLinai , NGAAF Director Fund Mangement & Resource Mobilization @ViridianaWasike and other distinguished delegates, and strategic partners underscored the weight of our message and the strength of our collective resolve. Our discussions centered on women’s economic empowerment, digital inclusion, and the importance of building partnerships that truly serve communities.

Our empowerment initiatives continued today with impactful visits to Lelan and Kapyego Wards in Elgeyo Marakwet, where @NGAAF_KE took further steps in advancing grassroots development.Through our patron Hon.Caroline Ng'elechei,we issued cheques to various self-help and community-based groups to enhance their economic activities and build their capacity for long-term growth.
In addition to financial support, we conducted civic education sessions aimed at raising awareness, promoting active citizenship, and ensuring that community members are well-informed and fully engaged in local governance and development processes.
Our mission of building empowered, resilient, and thriving communities is continually inspired by such efforts.

Yesterday, 32 community groups at Mukogodo West and East Doldol in Laikipia were walking away with more than just tools — they were walking away with the opportunity to grow themselves and their communities.Through our patron Hon.Jane Kagiri, each group received something that speaks to their needs and dreams:
1.Cheques to boost their group projects.
2.Beads to support women in handmade jewelry and craft work.
3. Catering utensils for small food ventures ready to tart their business.
4.Beehives for those turning to honey production as a source of income.
4. An incubator to help poultry farmers hatch successfully.
5.A tent and balls — simple, but powerful tools for youth groups engaging in sports and community events.
@NGAAF_KE is helping women, youth, and community groups build something sustainable for a better tomorrow.

Ever walked into a room and felt like you weren’t meant to be there?
Lorraine Njeri didn’t just study engineering—she lived through it. As one of just a few women in a sea of men, she faced exclusion, silent stares, and the constant weight of proving she was enough. But instead of shrinking, she grew. And now? She’s making sure other young women don’t have to walk that road alone.
🔥 This is the story we rarely tell—but desperately need to hear.

This day marked a powerful milestone in our journey of community empowerment at Chelang'a Gardens.Through our Patron Hon.Rael Aleutum,we officially distributed bursary worth sh.6,000,000 for vulnerable students in West Pokot County. This bursary is a lifeline to many children who face financial barriers to education. At @NGAAF_KE , we believe that no child should be denied the opportunity to learn and grow due to lack of fees.
We engaged with the Bodaboda Association, rolled out sensitization on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and launched the first phase of shoe shiners’ shades—initiatives that not only uplift livelihoods but restore dignity and strengthen local enterprise.
NGAAF, remains committed to driving lasting change through education, economic empowerment, and access to services. This was a clear reminder that when communities come together, real progress is not just possible—it is inevitable.

We continued our mission of uplifting lives at the grassroots through the Inua Jamii Mashinani program held in Mbiri Ward,Murang'a county . Led by our patron Hon.Betty Maina, the event was a testament to people-centered development that responds directly to the needs of the community.
1)Empowerment funds were disbursed to 8 social groups, including women groups, youth, PWDs, Saccos, and self-help groups that qualified to boost their projects.
2)8 schools and facilities received 5,000-litre water tanks, helping address water access & sanitation needs.
3)We also empowered 3 groups with 100-seater tents and chairs, creating opportunities for income generation and boosting their capacity to serve the community.
4)Each elderly person present was gifted a warm blanket, a heartfelt gesture of compassion to help them during this cold season.
5)Local farmers were supported with beehives to encourage sustainable agribusiness ventures and boost household incomes.
In addition, everyone in attendance received food supplies, and several vulnerable families were given mattresses to improve their living conditions.
This is how @NGAAF_KE continues to walk hand in hand with the people—building dignity, sparking hope, and transforming lives where it matters most.

Education stands as the most effective force for breaking the cycle of poverty and inequality. In Siaya county, with the facilitation of our Patron Hon. Christine Ombaka ,@NGAAF_KE supported young learners through bursary cheques and the provision of sanitary towels to ensure that no girl is left behind.
We recognize that many students, especially girls, face financial and social barriers that hinder their ability to attend school consistently. Through the distribution of bursaries, we are alleviating the burden of school fees for needy students, allowing them to focus on their studies and realize their full potential.
In addition, the provision of sanitary towels is a critical intervention to ensure that girls do not miss school due to lack of menstrual hygiene products. This simple yet powerful support keeps girls in class, restores their dignity, and promotes gender equality in education.
NGAAF is committed to promoting empowerment through education, and we will continue to invest in the dreams of our young people—because when we educate a child, we uplift a family, a community, and the nation.
Together, we are building a brighter, more inclusive future for all.

Today, under the leadership of our CEO, @RoySasaka , @NGAAF_KE signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the @KenyaRedCross and Hope Mobility Kenya. This strategic partnership is geared toward enhancing access to appropriate assistive devices for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across the country.
The MoU underscores our shared commitment to building an inclusive society where PWDs can enjoy equal opportunities, independence, and full participation in national development. Through this collaboration, NGAAF and its partners will work together to eliminate mobility-related barriers and expand the reach of support services to marginalized and vulnerable groups.
This partnership is a vital step in actualizing our mandate of promoting socio-economic empowerment for affirmative action groups. NGAAF remains dedicated to fostering a society where mobility, dignity, and empowerment are not just aspirations—but guaranteed rights for all.
